I have a pet dog I have had her for about 1 year and a half and she has started crying alot she has never done this before and now she is.... she used to live with another pet sometime ago but she hasnt lived with that animal for atleast six months or more. I was thinking that she was whining about that, but she has never shown signs of it before.
Also she doesnt seem to want to ever leave my lap she constantly wants to lay on me... I was think about getting another pet maybe to help her not be so possive and whiney I think she may be sad or scared something is going to happen to me...So do you guys think I should get another pet...Or maybe you could just tell me what her problem is if youve experienced this before. Thanks
I am no expert, I'm sure there are others on the forum who can give better advice, but does she act like shes sick or in pain? Our Beagle does my husband like that. She has to be on him ALL the time. Hope you find out whats wrong.

No she doesnt act hurt or in pain, its like she is sad or scared... she will sit a couple of feet away from me and then cry till i tell her to come here and then she will jump on my lap....I dont know whats wrong with her.. I was thinking that maybe she was lonely.
rocky does that he just likes being with me but he started to do it as soon as we got him not a year later. maby sence your other pet died the dog has become attached to you. you have become its new buddy and it needs to be with you
I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame I'd even cut my hair and change my name
Sounds like she does not like being alone. Separation anxiety. If you can afford to add another dog go for it. This very same issue arose in our household. I got a second dog and it solved my problem. I would bring your dog along to any new dog in question. To see if they really like each other. If a rescue, the rescue will want to see if the dogs will like one another.
Whoever said you can't buy happiness, must have never owned a dog!!!!!!!!!!!
With all due respect to Puttin, please carefully consider adding another dog. It does not always make the situation better and can make it worse. Then you've got two dogs' behavior problems to deal with.
