Daisy is about 6 months old and hasnt started losing any baby teeth yet. It seems to me that Bentley started losing some of his baby teeth by now. ( he did have to have a few baby teeth removed when he was neutered at 8 months old) does it matter by the breed? She is a mix of maltese and bichon frise. She does chew on pig ears and also other bones and things ive gotton her. I thought she would of started losing them by now- guess im wrong- any one know for sure when they start losing teeth? their baby teeth are so cute and small.lol and straight and so white.. to bad they couldnt keep their little tiny teeth they are soooo cute..lol
Generally dogs start looking teeth around 4 months. Sometimes when dogs are really tiny breeds, they take longer to start loosing them. My poodles teeth started coming out at 4 months, and her last two , which were the biggest longest canines on the front sides, came out at 6 1/2 months. My vet told me to play tug of war, and literally wiggle those teeth with my fingers. He did not want to pull those teeth out unless they were ready to come out, even though her adult teeth were coming down. Do you see any adult teeth coming down? You will be able to see the difference in the puppy teeth, from the adult teeth.
Whoever said you can't buy happiness, must have never owned a dog!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a little Sheltie girl who is coming up on 8 months that is JUST losing her canines. Her Mom & Dad both lost their's before 6 months... I think it depends on the dog. I've been wiggling the last canine the last couple of days as her adult canines are just starting to break through the gums and I'm hoping it will fall out in the next couple of days. She loves to chew on bones, so I'm also hoping that will help... I've only had to have one dog have a baby tooth pulled... so I'm crossing my fingers... They seem to lose them from 4-7 months usually though - at least with my Shelties.
