Hi, I have been reading everything you nice people have been discussing regarding the Cantel. Unfortunatly I had to have my Border Collie "Shandy" put down after 14 years of faithful love. I cried for weeks, my daughter worked at a petshop and had told my husband about the Cantels. She called one afternoon and said "Mom, you just have to see this puppy, it has been sold and will be leaving this afternoon, come see it" Ok, so I took a ride, it was so cute,fluffy, black and white, the owner walked up and gave me a card (I forgot to mention it was Valentines Day"). I opened the card it it read" Roses are red, Violets are blue,this Cantel is just for you, your loving husband". I named him Cupid. Yea, he is a mix breed and a mutt, papers don't mean anything to me, he loves to play outside and get dirty like most mutts and barks like most mutts and give me unconditional love like most mutts will. Thanks for letting me tell my little story.

I had a mutt and her name was maddy. she was the best dog I ever had. she was a lob mixed in with something else. she was a stray that adopted us. she had had puppys recently because she was still prodcing milk and she always looked around in small spaces (probably looking for her puppys)

it broke my heart because we had never seen her befor and we knew that someone had dumped her off becasue she was in out frond yard in the fence. I helt to badly. but she gave me more lovens then any other dog has. she always stayed by my side and she was trying to be a lap dog but it didn't work out becasue she was just to BIG.

hey keywestmom, I am so very sorry for your loss, I know that Shandy appreciated all of the love that you gave for so many years. I am glad that you have gotten a new puppy, I think that Shandy would have wanted such a great love of animals to continue. Its great that you can heal with a little ball of furlove!

Thanks luvpets, we had her creamnated and her ashes are in a tin in a velvet bag with her picture in my china closet, so she is not far away and it's been two years and still miss her. I noticed on my way to work one day a beautiful dog sitting on the side of the road, still there when I came back, day after day she sat there watching. Someone had dumped her. She finally found shelter in a abandoned house. I started feeding her on the way to work and back but after two months still could not get close. She was so beautiful, I had to have her, she too had recently had pups. I finally got a tranquilizer from my Vet and put it in her food and after about an hour was able to close in and leash her. Brought her home, had her fixed and love her so much, she is a red like a fox and part shepherd and collie (a big dog) named her Foxy and she loves Cupid so much and look out for him. I am just a push over for animals that have be abandon or lost. I wish I could win the lottery I would take in any thing I could find that needs a home.
