My adult male cat is sick. He came in yesterday evening, and asked for his dinner, but hardly ate anything. He was sneezing and his little nose was pinker than usual, but still cool and moist to the touch. Today he asked for his breakfast, but, again, didn't eat much. His eyes are kind of dull now. He's still sneezing, and now his little pink nose is warm and a bit dryer than normal. He just wants to cuddle and be near me. Does anyone know what these symptoms mean? He's up-to-date with his vaccinations and this is only the 2nd time in his whole life (Monty is 8 years old) that he has been sick. Could he just have a bad cold? I would appreciate all your opinions and suggestions for helping return him to good health. Thanks so much. Annie
Your kitty could have a bad cold. They will not eat if they can't smell their food. So give him something stinky, something that has tuna in it. Get him to the vet to get onto antibiotics. Also watch out for dehydration. I foster for a local animal shelter. I deal with this all the time. If they become dehydrated, I would syringe feed the cat. I would take a spoonful of wet pate type food, and mix with warm water. Then syringe it into their mouth. The more water the better. Go slowly, so they will not choke on the watery mixture. I will do this several times a day.
A good friend in PA, has a cat, that was very sick, the vet could not do anythiny. So they gave her, some OmegaXL fish oil capsule, they personaly were taking. In three day the cat was happy and back to her self. You can request free bottel, just pay for shipping. www.4rpain.com Hope this can help.
