I don't have a problem with people wearing fur to a certain extant. If the whole outfit is fur then i greatly disapprove with it.Someone shouldn't be fired over what they believe is right and wrong.Thats just stupid.
I have a fur coat that was given to me years ago. I had it altered once, for style about 12 years ago. I still wear it, not nearly as much anymore, but it is warm. I have never had anyone give me a nasty look, or maybe I don't see them. That old adage, To each his own I figure applies. That being said. JayLo is out for publicity and I don't think she really cares what people think!
Leather stinks, and I find it uncomfortable. Fur is tacky and it just plain creeps me out.
Pinky, they give you a dirty look because you are wearing dead animals around for fun. Also, they do it because this is the United States of America. You have the right to wear dead stuff just as much as they have a right to shoot you a nasty look.
lol at getting shot dirty looks = people having no class... Everyone has to deal with "looks". Attractive people, unattractive people. Over weight people, thin people. Someone out there has a problem with you. And if it's not judging you by your outward appearance, it is your personality. It's just the way life is.
If you can't handle a dirty look without having a fit... you are going to have one long stressful life and I feel sorry for the people who are going to have to constantly comfort you.

I think fur can look a bit creepy, personally. I don't think it is necessary to have fur/wear fur anymore...I don't personally wear fur or leather (not real leather, synthetic on belts of course, but not faux fur..I can not pull it off!)
I agree that people are always going to judge...whether your coat is real or not, people do not know and are going to asume what they want. Everyone is judged in one way or another and people, if they want, will always be able to find a reason to look down on you. You have to learn to hold your head up and be confident in yourself. I always smile at people who give me weird/dirty looks when I am walking my special needs dog who is afraid of cars moving past her...she bark/yelps and then flops on the ground or ducks. You would not believe the looks I get and the comments. some people have called her "defective", said I should "return her and get a better one", and one said that she should have been "killed at whatever stupid shelter" I got her from.
At first it bothered me, but truly, you just have to let it go off your back and give them a smile. make them wonder why you are smiling when they are giving you a mean look. Be confident enough in yourself and what you believe in not be affected by the looks that people who do not even know you give. :)

I love going into antuqe shops so when ever I get the chance im in one. One day i was looking through them and saw a furry thing sticking out around the corner, i went over to see what it was and it was a fox coat heads, and feet still attached. That was creepy.
Every year around here they have some strange indian fair thing. They set up Teepees and around 30 white guys dress up in furs (everything still attached) and a ton of them I mean layers upon layers, some put on head dresses, others carry turtle shells on a stick. In each teepee is a bed made from tons of fur, and tables covered with furs, skulls, turtle shells, and other "indan" things that used to be alive. I went over there once and was talking to one of the guys. I had to ask why he had on so much fur, he said he needs to to survive when it gets cold, hello it was in june, He went on to explain His way of life and such.
It was kinda creepy to see a bunch of white hill billys play indians and ware fur skirts, coats, and pants in the middle of june.
I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame I'd even cut my hair and change my name
