Hello everyone. This my first time posting and I really enjoy some of the advice people give on this board. I currently have a 1yr old chihuahua named Gzimo, that developed a soft bump on his head. I took him to the vet but he didn't want to take fluid from the bump since it was so close to his soft spot. He mentioned that if Gizmo wasn't acting funny, than he should be okay and the bump should go away. Its been 3 weeks and the bump is still there. He's fine but that soft bump worries me. Im just curious if anyone has had a similiar experience and might know what it is.
Hi BUDDYLOVE, I live in New Jersey, and now have my 4th CHIHUAHUA... Out of all the breeds there are, this special little FUR BABY Caught my heart years ago... My CHI baby "GIANNA" died on Valentines day, so I went and reseued a 4 year old Female on Feb. 25, 2007. Her name is BRANDY~ She has filled a void in me that was beginning to be unbareable! Just 10 days without my "GIANNA" was too much to bare... I am sure everyone has lost a pet, where we can all understand the steps of grief that we go through... Well "BRANDY" is now the new love of my life, and at 3 years old she STILL has her soft spot on her head... I have never had a chi that didn't have the softspot for life... About the soft bump, take her back to your vet if you are concerned, or get a second opinion... Don't worry too much, if your vet is telling yu that you shouldn;t be concerned, then wait a little while... I am here if you ever want to talk about CHI'S! They are my PASSION on life, such little dogs with SO MUCH love to give~ There is nothing like that LOVE~ Take care of yourself and your chi baby...
Chi's are more prone to hydrocephalous (sp). Water on the brain. But I think its odd that its just now appearing. I'd get a second opinion from a different vets office. I had a foster chi that sunk deep into my heart. I cried when she left. And My breed of choice is the poodle. Good luck, and I hope it is nothing serious.
Whoever said you can't buy happiness, must have never owned a dog!!!!!!!!!!!
