I was just curious if their are any horse riders on this website! I ride english and I do jumping classes and dressage! I jump 3"3"! How high do you jump? I have ridden horses for 3 years and my new barn that i ride at i have advanced sooooooooo much more than my other one! I rode for 2 years at a barn in New Jeresy and I was still a begginer! Now I have been riding at this new equestrian center in texas for almost 9 months and I am way past a begginer! At my old barn, I don't even think I had been jumping 1 foot! pretty sad, i guess! I ride mostly western and I really like reining. I used to show a lot and I have ridden english and have had lessons on it and my stock horse has been trained to do some english which is the horse in the picture. I dont show much anymore although I would like to, now I just raise a prospect every year or so from a King Ranch bred mare, I have her 3 year old daughter and a yearling soon to be gelding both sired by a son of Genuine Doc and am now expecting a colt this year sired by son of a 7 time world champion paint. Raising foals is a lot of fun especially when they are easy to work with. I have trained several horses and they arent all fun to work with regardless of previous handling. I love my 3 year old filly but the yearling soon to be gelding I think is going to be a super nice horse and has a lot of sense about him. He got tied up for the first time ever today and he stood their quiet as a mouse for 30 minutes until I untied him. What breed do you ride? I obviously have quarter horses.
I use to ride horses before I was pregnant :) And now I am thinking about horse riding again! I will probably end up buying a horse or two! I love arabians, thoughbreds, quarter horses, paints and more! :) We'll enjoy ur riding girl!
I ride english for the most part. Have been riding a little wetern for a new neighbour though.
I have been riding since I was 5, so 15 years now. It is my passion. i adore horses, and riding them. I have been fortunate enough to train at a great barn with an amazing coach. There is nothing like good training and a good foundation to start from. My horse now is a Canadian Warmblood (Hanovarian/Thoroughbred warmblood mutt). She is the greatest, love her very much. I am used to riding the larger warmbloods, have only recently been working with the Western Quarters, which are prooving to be good fun as well, in a different way.
It is nice to have other riders around here. Horse sport is the greatest :)
WOW! You sound like an incredible rider! I jump 6'2" courses, thats the highest my Irish Sport horse can go! Too bad you could not make it to the Olympics!what state do you live in? Yeah,I can't jump now that I am pregnat, but still do dressage.
If you want a rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.
I'm definitely in a slightly different area - I do barrel racing and pole pending, along with some playday events like Flags, Speed, Straight Barrels, and Pylons. Honestly I don't think I could keep up with ya'lls dressage stuff - I've seen performances on Tv and WOW!! But I think I have more fun than I would doing that - not saying mine is better, so don't take it that way, I'm just saying that for ME barrels seems more exciting. But I have to hand it to ya, ya'lls stuff is intense!
I am totally with LenaGirl14 on this I LOVE barrel racing pole bending flag races and keyhole races I like english but the judges I have seen are real touchy about my horse she makes alot of noise between whinneys and squeals the ribbons I have are good in english like 2nd but western speed events my horse love allthough shes pretty slow she loves it and is lucky to place!
cats humor us because they know there ancesters ate ours!
I used to run barrels, and do speed events and as matter a fact I have 2 rodeo queen titles and have competed on the state level. I still have my retired barrel mare but I have since been working with reining horses. If you like barrel racing, sit on a well trained reining horse for the first time and hold on tight because they are pretty quick with their feet and its not uncommon for people to almost fall off during the first sliding stop.
Gotta say you guys have me beat. I just have an appy gelding that I jump on with nothing but a lead rope. I love the way we can connect with each other when there's nothing between us. I think we jumped about 2 feet once (on accident):)
You can't ever expect a person to understand how an animal thinks! They will never understand selfish.
I ride horses. They are my 7th fave aniaml though. I rode horses for about 1 year. I work at TREC Theraputics. I help out handicapped kids ride horses and tarin them. I'm going to do this for awhile maybe 5 years or osmething...Who knows really.
I love anything with dogs on it or anything that has do with dogs!!! Dogs are special to me and my friends. I love all breeds of dogs, even puppies. I would always have puppydogs as pets.
I ride alot. I have a ShireXThoroughbred flea-bitten grey gelding, who's 20. I ride 8 horses/ponies and look after around 12. I jump different hights on different ones, eg, my horse is afraid of jumps, so i dont jump him much or very high. I dont bother with shows, im too busy and we recently had our trailer stollen, so we cant afford to replace it. I do alot for the horses, recently i helped re-back a 6 yr old rearer/bolter/bucker/napper with my friend, now she is being ridden by many kids of different ages. Ive worked with my horse, a bucker, he is 17.2hh and when he gets bad, he bucks verticle, no reason, no pain, no illness, no problem with tack, just a moody/clever horse! Anyone else got experiences like mine? Im 16 btw
