Hi Everyone. Thank you for all your advice and prayers. I believe the storm is finally over. We had 2 puppies left at the vet's yesterday, we lost one and we brought one home. She is nothing but skin and bones. But she is holding down baby food and nutrical and drinking water on her own. We will be nursing her back to health over the next month or so. All our familes, except 2, want to wait for another litter of Lavelle Dobermans instead of refunds or getting another puppy somewhere else. That truly blessed my heart. Even after this, people have so much faith in the way we raise/breed our dogs. My vet is truly beyond wonderful. His staff worked for 2 weeks straight, round the clock, IV's, pain meds, other meds on 17 puppies. My vet bill was $600.00. I cried. This has been one of the most heartwrenching experiences of our lives. Thank you all TP friends for being there through it all. God bless you all. Joy Lavelle * You can look now since we have no puppies for sale at the moment. No new pictures either, my camera took a dump. But you can see pictures of how beautiful my puppies were. We are blessed to have 6 still alive. 3 very healthy and 3 on the mend!I will keep you posted on their progress.

Goodness...I can only imagine how you feel, and I'm still sure my imagination falls short of your feelings. I've read all of your threads, and I'm just so sorry. It's very sweet (and shows how much people think of you and your breeding operation) that your families are willing to wait for another litter. I pray the the storm is over as well and that your remaining pups grow stronger by the day.
Hugs and kisses to your babies. Our prayers are still with you and the little ones you brought back home. May their tummies become fat and round again. And may you never have to go through this pain again. God Bless. oh and what a wounderful vet you have. Most would have charged a lot more for each pup. We need more like him in this world.
Thank you all so much. They are all doing well. I have never seen puppies so thin! But we are having fun fattening them up. Who knew baby food was SO expensive! We are making a game of the midnight and 3 am feedings! We have learned so very much and are so grateful for everyone's support. I will keep you all posted on everyone's progess. God bless you all!
Why did this happen? Seems like some serious complications. I do hope you get the female spayed after this. It wouldn't be fair or responsible to try to go through this ordeal again. Hope you find good homes for the pups.
pitbulls - nodogyet is right. This was from 2 litters, and all but 4 puppies had homes lined up. I am very strict about that. My girls are treated like queens. And I still have at least 2 more litters to do with my star Hazel! That was Isabelle's first. My vet said not to give up breeding, which is my second love next to Dobermans. We learned a great deal. All are still doing well. One boy went to his new family today. It was gret to see his fat belly go home! They were so happy! The others are all eating well and doing great. We will not breed again till next year, after our lawn is bleached. We are also redoing our kennel room, so there is an entrance room that the puppies don't go into. It was the worst, but again, we learned so much. We believe now it might have been that campybacterious.
