Want kind of healthy human food can we feed to our dogs?
I think dogs deserve real food rather than crappy dog food lol

I want to be able to feed my dog some healthy vegies or fruit, rather than just his plain old dog food(yuck) Will it be ok if i put a lil bit of vegies and fruit in his doggy dish along with his dog food? What can dogs eat and what can't they eat! Thank you! Shyann and her dog!

Carrots, tomatoes, potatoes(my guys love sweet potatoes)green beans, peas, green pepper(not to many like these)brocolli. NO ONIONS
Bananas, apples, cranberries, raspberries, blueberries are the only ones that come to mind right now. NO GRAPES OR RASINS, OR NUTS.
Turkey(no skin) Chicken, beef(love organ meat) I prefer to feed the meat raw. Do not feed proceeded meats like lunch meats, sausage, bacon with nitrates.

When and if you feed organ meat only feed 20% of the total diet. To much isn't good.

Anything they won't spit out lol.

Mine like carrot peels (since they don't notice they are there). Really though, dogs don't need many veggies or fruits. Try supplementing with meat/protein instead. Rutabega (spelling?) is good, and they like it.

about 1-2x per week I mix my dogs' dry food with chopped carrots, beans, pea pods, zuchini (which the love), green pepper, and cucumber. I keep a bunch of it chopped in the fridge and also will use it as an in between snack if they are being good...like always, right? lol!

Vegetables are very good for them (especially as treats for overweight dogs like my foster lab...she is about 20 lbs overweight...poor girl almost passed out going around the block today, probably the most exercise she'd ever gotten!)

Oakley's favorites are: green beans, peas broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, watermelon, and apples. She likes corn but it doesn't break down in their digestive tract and I hate trying to pick it up in the yard.

Yes, dogs can eat cooked eggs, raw is better though, spectacular if they'll eat the shell, too! It's okay to give your dogs fruits and veggies, just don't make them a staple of their diet. IMO, dogs don't need them nutrition-wise.

Make sure there are no apple seeds in the apples you give them. Mine like strawberries too.

Broccoli and cauliflower will give them gas... ewwy.

turkey is not good for dogs & can in fact make them extremely sick. Our phone used to ring off the wall at the AEC on Thanksgiving & Christmas with calls about dogs with diahrrea & vomiting from turkey.

Regular peas have a hard shell & are not digestable the same as corn.

My dobies will not look at most vedgies or fruits but love small cooked potatoes with some butter and also like manderin oranges.

Yogurt is another good food for dogs. It keeps the good bacteria in there tummies.

I also feed raw eggs each day for there coats.

thank you so much for everyones help! I have fed my dog turkey before and he has ended up having tummy aches after wards :( won't feed him turkey again. Today I am gonna try and give my dogs yogurt. And can dogs have pineapple?

My dogs get raw hamburger and chicken-bones included, beef bones, raw fruits andf veggies too. No grapes, raisins, or corn. The first two can kill your dog andf the corn gives no nutrition to dogs.

My new puppy picked up a strawberry that my son had dropped on the floor. Now she is addicted and wants one every time we eat them. Does anyone know if this is ok?

I made my own dog biscuits for the first time, and since I know exactly what's in them, both my husband and I tried them. He even ate them as a snack once or twice.

I think that since our dog saw us eating them, now biscuits = people food and he goes absolutely nuts over them--something that never happened with the storebought biscuits we had before!

Lacy's on a Nature's Variety Raw and I usually alternate the meat types I feed her. They make a chicken/turkey formula which she has eaten plenty of times and it never makes her sick. Maybe turkey only hurts them in large quantities.

Turkey itself is fine. It's turkey skin that could lead to pancreatitis. Really any overload of animal fat could do the same including cuts of meat without the fat shaved off.
