My fried is building a arena for her family to ride in but she can't afford the rubber footing that I have. So,what is the next best thing, but inexpinceve? I really like the rubber but it costs alot,BUT has great traction, and when it rains it floats. It costs sixty cents a sq foot, and with a arena that is 40x30 feet it can add up!
If you want a rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.
Try stone dust. You get it from the local stone quarry. If you put down a minimum of 6" to 8" you should get pretty good footing even when wet and it is less expensive than the rubber footing. You can even pick up a york rake attachment for a lawn tractor and groom it from time to time.
