We have had a cat and her name is wicket. we've had her for a long time and we need to know how to introduce her to a new dog that has never seen cats before...i mean we brought Sheba home yesterday and i need to know how to get her use to the cat that has been here for a long time. plz someone help me!
Keep a close eye on them untill they get to know eachother.
i cant rember exactly what i did but When we got rocky I brought the cat into the room and had my hands on both of them (i was eather holding one and petting the other or petting both) Once I though they wouldnt try to kill eachother i let them be and just kept a close eye on them.
now they are friends, they play and cuddle and will even share food.
I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame I'd even cut my hair and change my name
We have had ugg our cat for like 5-6 years and he was a only pet in our home untill we got bentley just over a year ago and it took them a good month i think before they even would sit by each other or anything like that without bentley trying to play and chase ugg and ugg swatting at him and hissing and then they became the best of friends and they would play all day together and wresle and it was so cute to see them sleeping with each other . But then we got Daisy ( anther puppy) about 5 months ago and daisy and ugg still dont get along. Now Bentley and Diasy gang up on ugg and chase him threw the house and cornering him and they dont hurt him but they sure do pester him. I feel bad for uggy becasue bentley and him were best buds untill daisy came along and now daisy and bentley are inseperatable and ugg is left out I wish they all would just get along instead of constantly chasing poor ugg around the house - Yes i do have a baby gate up so the dogs cant get in the bed room areas so ugg jumps over that to get away from them. I still hope they will all get along- Bentley even now chases ugg and doesnt play with him anymore so i find that werid-
Our dog is pitbull- her name is Sheba! shes a good dog but she acts like she wants to chase the cat around..but we dont know if she will get along with her. so right now sheba is on the chair and wicket is outside! when hubby is home he wants to try and work with them together..but right now the dog and cat stay away from one another when the cat wants in i put the dog up in a room with my son (we have to watch her closely for 14days becuz she just got spayed) but the cat stays in the bedroom during the day! night she goes outside! but i really wanna know if we can make it work between cat and pitbull!
That is one of the breeds I would never trust left alone with a cat. And before you Pitbull owners get your knickers in a wad, it's not because it is a Pitbull, it is because of the word that follows Pitbull TERRIER. Terriers have a very strong prey drive. I would never leave one of my terriers alone with any small animal, dog, cat, rat, bird.
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
Also, be careful about the food. My dog is the most unaggressive dog that ever lived, but...if a cat gets near her food, she will stand her ground and get very possessive. Anyway, dog food isn't good for cats and vice versa. Be sure to keep feeding areas separate.
