I'm wondering if anyone has any great tips on cleaning up dog hair. I have a black lab and a boxer and both shed like crazy and I just can't ever keep up with it!! I vacuum and sweep constantly but I'm wondering it anyone knows of any great products for cleaning it up or ways to slow down the shedding. They're on a top of the line food and I keep them brushed and clean. Any help would be great as I'm having a baby any day and would love to think about dog hair a little less!!
Smooth coated breeds always shed more. The life span of the hair is shorter, thus falls out more often. There are products, called "Sheds Less" or even treats for this made by the people who make the Furminator. Check with your local pet store for these products. And the more you brush the less they shed.

Nutro isn't really top of the line. Neither is it horrible, but for the price you can probably do better with Chicken Soup. A good diet is important for keeping a good coat, so maybe you should look into premium brands like Eagle Pack or Solid Gold.
If you can afford it and are really serious about minimizing the shedding, I suggest bringing them to a groomer every 3-4 weeks to get their coats stripped (idk if this is the proper term).
When my dog is shedding, just brush him more often, either with his standard brush or the shedding blade.
You could try using a shedding blade (also called shedding comb, rake, etc.). Sounds kind of scary-it is a metal strip with serrated teeth. Brush your dog with this and it yanks out loose hair like crazy,so be sure to do it outside. Works well on the smooth-coated dogs I have owned (shepherd mix, Lab X Golden mix, terrier mix).
