Oh boy Halo, do you really think you want two more puppies. It is clear that you can't handle them. I think you have more then enough on your plate.

You went through a whole lot of dogs in just a few months! I'm just wondering why you jumped down the throat of MoRgZ66 when you do the same thing.

It is very difficult and sad to lose a pet, even if it isn’t yours, you still get attached. Please pass along my condolences to your sister (sounds like its her dog). She must be absolutely heartbroken over this whole thing with Bella after getting her hopes up.

If it was hard before to keep 2 puppies, it still may be hard now (obviously circumstances may have changed that I am unaware of), so be prepared for that. Puppies are a lot of work and 2 puppies are, in my experience, well over double as much work as one because they feed off each other’s energy. I would urge you to do everything in your power to keep the poodles given to you now…after losing Bella, I’m sure it would be very hard on your sister to have to lose another dog as well as the dogs to be separated if they are littermates and attached to one another.

Again, so sorry about the passing of Bella. Many hugs to you and your sister.

Pope, how do you find threads that easily? Is there a way you can search for them or did you just look through all the threads? Just wondering because I've wanted to look up a certain thread in the past and didn't know how to do it.

Come on guys give her a break. Like I stated on another thread she is just a kid. We all made stupid discussions at that age. No matter what... it has been a rough week with losing the puppy even if it was her sisters. Maybe... just maybe she has learned her lesson. Please let's cut her a little slack and greave with her over the loss. Please!! If she rehomes the miracles that she has been given than you have every right to reprimand her. Only time will tell.

lol, I can't say I'm surprised.. pope does this to everybody on the forum.

The difference here is that I did not go out looking for these pups, I did not pay for them.. nor did I ask for them. I wouldn't have gotten another dog for a very long time with the passing of Bella, even though my sister wanted one so badly. Keep in mind, she's 11 years old.

Yes, the poodles were in a very bad environment when I took them out of it. I had puppy fever, yes I did.. but if I was going to BUY a dog for me, that would not have been the breed of my choice. They both have loving homes 10 times better than they would have ever had with that lady. and yes.. they were matted, and dirty. NOT by my fault, might I add. They came to me like this. It's not like Cash is out of my family, he is with my father.. I see him weekly.

Say what you will, but you have way too much time on your hands. Honestly.

Also, about Kady.. luvmydoxys has her, she understood the situation.. and I'm highly positive that she isn't upset about it one bit. She loves Kady, and that's the best I could ask for.. my little sisters eyes were swelling shut, what else would you expect me to do? Give me a friggin' break.

Pope, I might also add that people like you are worthless.. god forbid you lose one of your dogs and people decide to jump down your throat and make you out to be a pitiful dog owner. I'm sure stuff will come out of the closet eventually about you.. you're way too high on your high horse. Someone needs to knock you right off of it. Get a new hobby, already.

I might also add, you've never seen me come on here and say.. "Well, I'm getting rid of my dog because It's a savage.. anyone have any other ideas about what dog I can get?". I do not throw animals out like yesterdays garbage.

Someone showed up on your doorstep, gave you a papered purebreed and a mutt while sobbing and then wandered away?

That is absoutly facinating.

You can prob sue the vets office for giving out your information to overly emotional strangers that give away dogs.
On the best of days a dog is a dog, and on the worst of days a dog is a dog.

Like Judge Judy always says, If it doesn't make sense then its not true! LOL

sereneshihtzu, she says she is not a kid, she is 22. My kids where all grown up at that age. One owns his own business and the other is a civil engineer at 22. They are old enough to take care of themselves at that age!

I am very sorry about Bella, truly I am. I just don't undertand why you would add more dogs to your life.

Icy, exactly my thought.
I find it too far fetched.

And really, I know pope well, there is nothing hiding in her closet. She takes care of her animals for life. Unlike alot of people on this forum that rehome them like an old tshirt.

This is what you are not understanding, I have not "rehomed" any of my pets. The dog that I did have to seek a new home for, was making my sister insanely ill.. and the poodles in question, I purchased them to get them out of a filthy environment. Everybody here knows this. As for these pups, I did not go out and purchase them.. anybody insinuating that I did... I just don't understand. After a week of vet care for my Bella.. there is no way I would be able to do so, and still make a living the rest of the month.

I am grown up, I am 22 years old. I have my own apartment, and I've had my own job for 3 years now.. raising my little sister because my mother has debilitating seizures and spats where she is insanely confused.. etc. Being 22, raising an 11 year old.. buying all of her school clothes, meeting all her needs.. and then a 500 dollar vet bill on TOP of that is not easy. but it's the price you pay to have animals. I love Bella, I love Duchess.. I love the poodles, and I love Kady.

I was totally convinced my Bella was going to make it when I wrote the story for the vets office. I do write, as a hobby. It was a very emotional story, and at the end I put my own name and phone number for anybody who'd be going through the same heartache as I am.. that wanted to discuss the memories and good times with their baby.

Sorry I still dont buy it, just to much, somes showing up with 2 puppies, one papered, that is what pushed it over the edge for me. As soon as I read that bella was sick I knew that new puppies were on the horizon for you.

m13lucky, most of those delightful, priceless little pieces of literature I had saved in my psycho poster folder (we shall call it this in this, as I am not about to cuss and say the actual name of it) for future reference which believe it or not, quite sadly..actually comes in handy.
I save several things I come across. Helpful advice, breeders sites, links, whatever strikes me...gets squirreled away.

And you are right halos, I do this to people who need to be seen as what they truly are because enough is enough. Time to stop suckering decent people (mainly the ones who don't know your story including well intentioned newbies) into your dramatic bs.
They don't deserve to have their time wasted giving you the attention you desire. You will never have to guess on how I feel about something ;)

I don't feel the need to list my qualifications in life. I am satisfied with where I am at, no need to brag my accomplishments or compare notes. You surely aren't the only person dealing with the trials of day to day life, yet we all survive and don't constantly post novels.

I unlike you, try to give people the benefit of the doubt before bitching them out. (should someone go on the hunt for those cheery little posts?) Then again, it is life and I can't explain how some people just rub me the wrong way. Then I try and avoid their existence to coexist productively. Just as I am certain, as I said this is life, is the case with how people feel about me as well. I can't help it I have god given talent of being an extremely good judge of character *shrug*

The story definitely does not add up...it seems very strange that it would happen in that way...unbelievable. Obviously I was not there, but it does seem a little weird-especially considering you had just lost Bella...most people wouldn't bring you a dog right away and just give it to you unless they just wanted a place to dump them.

At 22, people are well old enough to be responsible with all things in their lives...

Halo, by bringing up the thread from the 12 year old who asked about getting a second dog and describing the 1st as savage, is very childish. She is a child and needed to be told the proper thing to do, however, it should be done respectfully and should not keep coming back up. You are the adult in that situation and should act as such.

I am truly sorry about Bella, it is hard to lose a dog that you care about, but your track record of rehoming puppies does not play in well in this situation. I truly hope you prove us all wrong and are able of keeping both puppies healthy and happy, but like most, I am not holding my breath.

i do believe that you write stories, but if i were to look for them in a library, they would all be filed under the section marked "fiction".

I suppose you guys can wonder what you wish. The fact remains that I would NOT have went and bought another dog after just losing Bella. I had just burried her that morning. You can "judge my character" if you wish.. but that certainly is not the case. By saying that you're making it seem that I didn't care about her.. and that's so far from the case. Sad that people would try and make it seem that way as well. If I hadn't cared about her.. she wouldn't have spent the last week in the vet, trying to save her life.

If you'd like to explain how I got these puppies, if they weren't GIVEN to me.. then be my guest, please. I certainly did not have the cash to shell out for a purebred Shih Tzu, trust me on that.. nor a designer mutt, either. Considering the prices. In response to "proving people wrong" about these two pups, neither of them will be going ANYWHERE. Quote that, pope.. since you're so good at it. :D:D

So, whatever you say.

For the people who are genuinely caring about the loss of Bella, thank you. For those who want to be stuck up snobs, perhaps something like this will happen to you.. and someone like ME will get up on my own high horse. :)

Sorry to hear about Bella- I have been reading your posts and hoping for a better out come.
Very scary how one day she was fine and then she wasnt. Makes me very worried about my dogs. Every little thing that doesnt seem normal makes me worry.
So you think it was this recalled dog food? I would be in a panic right now if my dogs had been using any of that dog food but havent. My husband said we had bought some iams for our cat but i dont remember that being recent tho.
BUt still makes you wonder-

I hope your new puppys will help you threw this trying time. I wouldnt know what to do if i lost one of my babies. They are like my children and i just couldnt even imagine going on with out either one of them. I never thought i would love my dogs as much as i do. I wasnt a animal person at all- didnt like the smell of dogs or the hair i just didnt like any animals. Then i got bentley and he changed my life completly and then daisy and i couldnt love them any more if they were my real children- ( which i do have 3 daughters and they call the dogs their brother and sister-lol) i catch myself and laugh tho when i say give your sister some water or your brother wants some attention..lol never thought in a million years i would love any dogs this much. So, i really dont know what your going threw as i havanet lost one of my dogs but i can only imagine how much it hurts to be with out her.
I dont know tho if i could get new dogs so quick tho i would feel like i was trying to replace them and i couldnt do that.
not for awhile- I would need time to heal and moarn the loss of my dog. But each person is diffent.-
