Ugg is about 5-6 years old and has been a fat cat- but recentley i noticed after picking him up that he has lost ALOT of weight. he is all skinny- He acts the same and eats the same. Why would he lose so much weight? Would this mean he is sick? He is neutered and is a inside cat- never has been out side- My husband is worried about him just becuase he has lost so much weight. He isnt any more active to lose any weight. what could be the cause?
Please get him to the vet asap. An overweight cat can get diabetes......if not treated, can lose weight. He could of had diabetes for some time, which would cause the weight loss. I hope this is what it is, as it could be as simple as giving him a daily shot of insulin.
what brand food are you feeding. There is currently a large recall on lots of pet foods that has been linked to kidney failure and death. You need to find out immediately if you are feeding this food, and get the cat to the vet. Don't mean to scare you, but this could be a serious matter.
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
The first thing to check for Is Fleas. Even indoor cats can get them. Then they can lead to tapeworms. A tapeworm can really deplete your cat. Look for little rice like segments near, under it's tail or where your cat sleeps. That would be a big reason for weight loss. However it could be diet, or more serious and require a visit to the Vet.
