Depends on if I'm walking one of the big dogs, one of the little ones, if we are at a show or just out playing. I have grooming case full of nothing but different types of them. Even at the shows, Min Pins use one type, Pugs another and beagles yet another, lol.
If just at home hanging out on the couch, they wear no collar at all.
People are like slinky's, not really good for much. But its still fun to push them down the stairs.
I am soooo picky about the collars they were! I use the metal buckle ones rather than the snap because snaps break easily and often depending on the size/strength of the dog. I forget who they are made by, but they have some padding to be easier on the neck (one of my babies has scars from a chain digging in which was the real reason I started with the padded collar as the area is a bit sensitive). They are nothing super fancy (not like a designer collar), but very nice and a definite favorite of mine... My dogs are naked at night as well as if we are just hanging around...Although my fosters were theirs more often, at least until they are semi-reliably trained.

I've had similar collars on our labs for about 6 months now.. They are VERY destructive when it comes to collars so this wasn't exactly our first try.. Being littermates even at a year old they still like to pull on each other by the collar.. So I was pleasantly surprised that these stood up.. The ribbon on the outside has torn some, but the collar itself is still in great condition.. I just bought these since they're on sale as "back ups" for when the others have finally had it.. I also have a blue and yellow set.. I haven't decided if I want them to match or not.. Cheesey, I know
Mine wear no slip collars. When we go for hikes in the wood they have bright orange collars. I like no slip best because, well, they cant slip out lol. And it doesnt have to be tight on their neck all the time.

Bode has a leather collar. His tags slide over the collar--zero jingling--so he is our "stealth Bode" as we like to say. The tags were minimum 3/4 inch width and since I couldn't find a collar that size, I had it custom made by LDS Leather Co. of Oklahoma.
Dunno if I would buy a leather collar again. Very durable and looks nice, but its difficult to clean. He has a bad habit of rolling in poo now and then, always in such a manner to get it on his collar. I had to go to Farm and Fleet and buy Saddle Soap for cleaning it.
Mine don't usually wear collars either. But when I left the dogs home with kennel help, I put them on with tags. Just incase one of them got loose. But I did not remove them right away. I found Mabeline hanging from the fence by the loop on her rabies tag. Luckily, I found her right away, and she was smart enough to put her little feet in the fence wire to hold herself up. That is why my guys are usually collarless. Plus it messes up there coat for the show ring.

Both of mine where a collar, just for tags, it is loose enough that they could slid out of caught up on something, but they will not just fall off. They also each have harnesses and prong collars as well as martingales.
Lacy has nine swarovski crytal collars from A crystal Affair ( http://www.acrystalaffair.cc ) mostly pink (light pink, hot pink, light pink w/ hot pink, pink and green, and pink and turquoise), clear crystal, lavendar, light yellow, and red. She also had one light blue lambskin & swarovski crystal collar, a pink glittery collar w/ rhinestone sliding letters that spell out Lacy, an Aggie collar, a brightly colored striped collar, and three velvet ones w/ rhinestones (royal blue, dark purple, and black).
She wears a different collar everyday depending on what outfit she's wearing.
Both my dogs have Coach collars and matching leashes. With Juicy couture name tags charms. They each have 2 in differnt colors - But they all are leather.
My cat doesnt wear a collar. I have bought them and put them on him and he can always weasle out of them ( the ones that break apart if they get caught) so he goes naked> he isnt a outside cat so he doesnt need one-
