I have a 7 year old Siberian Huskey. She has been sick for awhile, she has been on lasix, and other meds for about 2 months now. She breathhs really hard alot of the time, she coughs alot, like she is gagging. I took her for a check up today, and they trold me she has an enlarged heart, and that she could die anytime. They say she can go to a cardelogist, butthat is big bucks. Can anyone please tell me something about this? Is there anything I can do at home to make it better? Maybe her diet, andything?? Thanks to all who reads, and any information is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks kasi
I can't help too much, but our little Yorkie had the same thing. When he got to the point a little past where your dog is, we opted to put him down. He was almost 13 and he got so bad we couldn't even lift him, he would cry. The enlarged heart was compounded by an enlarged liver. Your a little luckier than we were. Frisky was diagnosed was put on lasix and something else to try and take care of the edema but he only lasted about a month and just got sicker and sicker. My heart goes out to you. Why don't you call the cardiologists office and ask them what an office call would be, you can always take your xrays with you from your current doc and just talk to them. I hate not to give you a lot of hope, but maybe there are things out there I don't know about. Bless you, and your dog. Let us know.
Thank you...I can't get in to the cardeologist till monday, but i am defently going to see how much...Thank you for your information...I really hope i don't have to put her down, but i can't see her suffer eathier...
