Anyhow... back on topic :) I was just wondering if anyone here has ever witnessed or experienced this. I have just recently moved into my new place & everything was going well until today. As usual, in the morning, I took Beau out to do his business & then into the kitchen to have breakfast. As I was getting my son's lunch ready, Beau walked over to the gate & started staring into the dining room, then all of a sudden he got spooked, he tried to turn & run back into the kitchen, he was falling & just freaking right out. He got back to the other side of the kitchen & then with his tail down, kept on looking toward the dining room. He wouldn't go right back up to the gate... but he kept looking into the same corner/side of the room. Keep in mind, nothing was moved or changed & nothing was there. Needless to say, Beau would not finish eating his breakfast.
So after work, I started with the same routine, start cooking dinner, go get Beau, take him out & then feed him his dinner. Same thing happened, except he didn't fall down, but glaring into the same area, not eating & just pacing back & forth to the gate (but not up to it). Then as I am doing up some dishes, my son comes up to the gate & while standing in the dining room ask's me if I ever get the feeling that I'm being watched, because he is having that feeling right now. My son knew nothing about what happened with the dog earlier that day.
I've tried a couple of times to bring the dog back to eat, but he won't... he just keeps looking into the same spot. When we leave the kitchen, I have to pull him along cause he just doesn't want to go, but once we are past that area, he's scooting ahead of me. We've been living here since the first of February.
I'm a little freaked... I've never experienced this before, but I tell you, my dog doesn't seem to be any kind of protector the little chicken ;)
oooooh my hackles are up! I have read in many different places that both children (esp. small ones) and animals are more psychically sensitive. Your story really creeped me out and I hope you get some answers and no strange noise or apparitions in the meantime! How old is your son, btw?
Please keep us posted...
No telling what makes dogs act the way they do sometimes!
Well I'm sure everyone will have a different opinion on this but I do believe they see things we do not.
When I lived on the farm my cats would stair at the ceiling at different times. I also seen them looking at the door way and watching. Let me tell you it did freak me out but again this was over 18 years ago. I have to add to this day this house has been struck by lighting three times now. I use to see when I lived there sparks flying from light to light. The X still lives there so maybe this is just "what comes around goes around"! LOL
I have no clue what the cats where watching but they seen something I didn't.
This is part of my faith so I don't have a problem with it. I really wouldn't worry about it. I think they see things and that's OK. Burn some sage and tell the spirit to be gone.
OK, I am a sceptical believer, yes I know an oxymoron lol. but here is what I suggest. When he starts doing this snap some pictures off in the direction he is staring at, see if anything shows up, orbs, shadows, smoke, light rods etc.
You can also leave a voice activated tape record in the room at nice and see if it records anything.
As a last restort, and you may feel foolish you can try talking to it and see if it responds.
You can also tell it that it's ok for it to stay a round but it has to quit scaring the dog.
Feel free to PM me if you wish. If it keeps happening do a clensing with sage.
I do believe they see more than we do. Whatever it is, it has to go if you tell it to. In the Christian faith, we are taught to tell harrassing spirits to go in the name of Jesus. They have to obey. No ifs, ands, or buts. Good Luck, I will pray for you.
Funny I'm writing about this now when we are in the middle of a huge thunder storm! OOooo! At least I've got my fearless Huskies to protect me, yeah right!
Thanks for the replies & pyrmom for posting the link.
My son is 8 & Beau will be 2 in July.
This morning went better, the dog ate his breakfast & only looked over into that area of the room a few times, but didn't seem to be as spooked as yesterday. Still wouldn't approach the gate though.
I have a friend who is an extreme believer in this stuff & I called him to come over & check it out. As soon as he walked into the 2nd parlor, where my son was watching cartoons, he pointed into a corner which would be the same corner in the dining room. He went into the dining room & pointed again in the same area the dog was looking.
And that is what I am, a skeptical believer. Thanks Flip.
Anyhow, my friend knows a guy who would just love to come over & check this out... he looks for this stuff & is right into it... they are going to come over & do a cleansing. But if this thing is friendly & does agree not to scare the dog or stare at my son, then he can stay. To bad he couldn't do house work.

Would be nice if you could "train" them to help out around the house, wouldn't it?!
"Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful".
Funny story about this. I lived in a house that was confirmed haunted, told him/her it could stay if it behaved etc. One night I went to bed and left dishes in the sink, next morning I got up all the dishes where washed and neatly stacked. I thought my better half had done it.
Fast forward a few weeks later, I left some laundry in the basket on the kitchen table, next morning it was all folded. M y other half NEVER folds laundry so I said "wow what got into you , you folded the laundy." to which my other half replied, " errrr nooooo, I thought you did it." Turns out our spirit was not only behaving but was helping with the house work. I did give it permissson to run the vacumn, but it never took the hint lol.
LOL Flip, with all the ghosts I have never gotten one of them. I would have never moved!
I have a friend that lives in PA. She really is a ghost buster or I should say ghost whisper. She will smudge them from the homes if they want them to leave. She has also wrote a few books about it. Cindy Kueczynski is her name, she is on talk radio and the hole nine yards.
Well things were much better today... dog wasn't freaking out, just the occasional glance over in the corner & Justin didn't mention anything about feeling like he was being watched.
The thing that tick's me off is the BF think's I'm crazy. I'm just going to keep an eye on the dog & see if he keeps acting wierd or not. Unless the dog ends up getting used to this thing, whatever it is.
Thanks for your support & opinions. I really appreciate it.
When I was younger we lived in a house were weird stuff always happened. The guy who lived there before us went to jail for killing his wife-they didn't find her body till years later when they were building an addition onto our mall(traumamamma you may have heard about this ). This was probally at least fifteen years ago they found her. I don't think it ever came out were she died-if it was at my dads house or her apartment. There was also a man killed in a shoot out with police after stealing a car from the old ford plant. This was a looong time ago and the cars still back there. I'll never forget walking back there one day it was all sunny and birds singing and as soon as we came to a clearing in the woods it was a pure dark blu/black sky and there was a huge clap of thunder-I don't think I was ever so close to wetting myself!
the thing that happened with my cats was we were sitting in my room on the top of my bunkbed and the cats looked out to the middle or the room-not eachother-and just started hissing. It was the weirdest thing I have ever seen and I will never forget the noises they made.To this day I have never seen a cat look like that. It went on for a while and then they finally jumped off the bed and out of my room.

AmStaffDino... I wonder if that is what is happening. Beau is a lot calmer now, but he still looks over into that corner all the time. I don't know of another dog that I could borrow (so to speak) at this time, but I will look for the opportunity.
The other thing is that when this first happened, the dog falling down & trying to get away... I was right there only a couple feet away from Beau, surley if there was a mouse or something that made a sudden movement, I'm sure I would have seen it or heard something myself.
I don't know, but I am becoming more of a beliver at this point, but if someone wants to give me proof that it was something else, something logical, I'm all for it.
wow, flip are you really serious about a ghost doing your laundry and chores. That is creepy. I have moved four times with my dog, and every house we live in, she always is just staring at things, but i don't think it is a ghost. If i had a ghost living in my house, i would move out in a second, i get creeped out very easily. :)
When we lived in California our apartment was in an old retirement center. My 1 year old would wave at someone behind me or my husband when no one was there. Here in our home our pugs and one of our rotties will bark and wag their tails while looking towards the top of our bed. My mom swears that it is because Maggie, my very favorite and most missed Rotti is laying up there. Wish I could touch her..
Yeah i'm serious. It did'nt DO the laundry just folded it. There was another time I got back from being away, I was exhausted and fell asleep on the couch, the next morning I woke up and was cover with a blanket off the dogs chair.
I think my ghosts was a housekeeper before death lol. I loved that house the atmosphere was always warm and welcoming.
