My cat was just fixed a few days ago. Everything was fine the surgery went good, then i brought him home the next morning, and the first thing he did was run straight to the litter box to urinate. Well further on in the day when i noticed him going to the litter box, he was straining to pee, and would only pee about the size of a quarter. Well he was back to his normal cat self..playing, and eating, but then i noticed he wasnt eating his hard food as much, and barely drinking any water. Well i became worried, looked online for possible answers, emailed the vets office - but called them the next morning. They told me i should bring him right in, and was listed under emergency, i was freaking out!! So i rushed him over there, and they said "well his bladder isnt empty, but its not full" i was like yeah well he hasnt been drinking a lot of water, i figured maybe he was still in pain from the surgery - still swollen. Well they wanted to keep him for a day or 2 to put him on antibotics, and to watch him over night and stuff. Well i called the next day, they said that he peed and was doing fine, but still wanted to watch him. So finally its the next day, i go over there to get my cat, well i waited in the lobby for about 2 hours until finally the vet came out to tell me that he didnt pee over night, they had to pump his bladder just a few minutes ago, but he's doing fine. Im pissed beyond this point, i mean my cat was healthy and everything before i got him fixed, now he's fixed, and now somethings wrong with his bladder? well they told me to call later on that afternoon to see if it was safe to get him. Im very worried about my cat, cause he's all i have. I mean it doesnt sound serious, he couldve not drank anything or ate anything that night - or he couldve been too upset to do anything?! Ya know!? Please if someone has something simaliar to this..please tell me!!
-Well thanks for everyone for not commenting on this, turns out he has a UTI, he's been home since Friday..and hasnt peed since Saturday morning, he's taking Torbutrol, and Clavamox. I dont know what else to do.
