Well loser :) If you came on msn more, you'd be in the loop, lol.
Cider hates him.. They were fine on neutral ground.. In her house.. Oh lord... I have never seen a dog so toy happy.. He's chewed on all of the ones in my room...
He's hyper.. He was likely dumped in rescue because he was too high energy. He mouths when excited. He likes to put his paws on you to hold your arm so he can stand. He knows what sit is, but doesn't do it on command. He has none of the basic behaviours..
I'm hoping a puppy will be easier than dropping a 1 year old in the house honestly. But he's adorable, and great full for anything..
Try getting one of those Kongs on a rope and dragging it through the yard in front of him. I'd put a really smelly treat in it. Maybe liver you've microwaved. (We're all gun-shy about commercial treats right now!)
He needs to be outside and he needs to run around with other dogs.
LOL, if I had your couch, I'd want to lie on it, too. That is such a cute photo.
Nope. he also looks like he has a sheltie head.. Resembles a foxhound.. and a dozen other things. He's beagle sized though.
Finally got him to run around. Think he's been abused. He wouldn't fetch because of my lacrosse stick but I didn't get his body language the first day.. Cowered and belly crawled tonight. Ended up throwing by hand though not far and they chased each other around.
He's really cute! Sounds like a giant handful. It will be fun to see how he develops in your care. I wonder if he would like something like a springpole? I've not often seen them used with non-bully breeds, but it might be worth a try. He can wear himself out on that, maybe, and it can play tug with him longer than you can!
"Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those that matter, don't mind...And those that mind....don't matter."
Very nice looking, but I don't see beagle either...He looks more like a smooth coat fox terrier to me. Definately sounds like he has the typical terrier personality. It is a shame that people take a terrier breed and don't keep them because they are just being a terrier...Good luck!!
That furry friend is a purebread jrt. I unfortunately just lost mine to old age a couple days ago. And she looked just like yours. The only difference being a a couple black spots on my dear friend. They are very high strung kids throughout most of their life. Need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. However every day your sure to find something new they do to make you laugh. Mine liked to be vaccumed and would come running when she heard me turn it on. :) They are fearless dogs and a real treasure to be sure.
