Maybe so bogle, but would you make up lie after lie after lie to get attention? Isnt having cancer enough attention already? Oh, and on top of it all she already had leukemia, her mother died of cancer, her sister was killed, and her foster dog died while she was in the hospital. Come on. People that have THAT much tragedy have NO reason to lie. The fact she did lie to get attention only proves to me her entire story is a fraud.
My cousin was in a car accident which injured her neck, she had surgery to correct it, and because the doctors messed up to say the least, she had a stroke. At age 31 she has 90% loss of hearing in one ear and 70% in the other. Her husband was dianogsed with Lou Gehrigs disease last year and is starting to progress faster even with Stem cell treatment. They have lost custody of their niece. Her ill mother in law is living with her. And they are broke. Do you think she comes on the computer and lies about her husbands treatment so she can get more attention from it? Hell no. Instead she holds benefits for him, does walks for ALS, and goes to work.
People like rescuepups need help. Yes. Go play with your dogs rescue, if you even have any.
And Happy Easter.
http://www.ashleyspets.com "A dog is not almost human, and I know of no greater insult to the canine race than to describe it as such.
Lucky Lady would you shine so brightly if I picked a 'pagan' god and said the same thing or would the slight against your secular and singular religion cause you outrage?
As for this whole cancer thing. I call bull on it. I think it is a convent way to ditch dogs and remake our forum personality. If you want attention and support there are plenty of cancer sites, as well as your team of doctors, nurses, and specialists that are on your case.
You have such a feminine boyfriend that I'd wonder about him, but it seems he has plenty of affection to gush all over you.
But being someone who has seen this again and again from attention seekers I will roll my eyes and continue on. I hope your rebuilt personality is pleasant and that you can keep it up,
On the best of days a dog is a dog, and on the worst of days a dog is a dog.
Well the reason I ask is this. In light of this new thread and the post she made I ran a search on her user name. I ran across a travel site with a member there (just joined the end of march 07) named rescuepups from new jersey with a golden retriever I believe it said. Anyways the reason I ask is because on March 23 it said she would be in Cancun Mexico the first week of April. And I found this kinda strange if this is the same person. Here is a link:
I was completely taken in on this until I received a pm from rescuepups! It was completely strange and I started to think about it. Pope and I talked about it and she felt the same way. Pope has a lot more courage then I do and called her on it! Go Pope!
I hate being lied to and the big problem is that doing this to people especially the younger members just teaches them not to trust people. Maybe that is a good thing.
Just remember rescuepups! what comes around goes around and you will need prayers when this happens. I will still pray for you because you need it mentally!
Pope, i am VERY sorry. She post all this right after a very close faimly member pasted away with cancer and i was still very upset. rescuepups!, Why would you play with peoples feelings like that? Now when ever you post i will not be sure if you are telling the truth.
***Edited By: Rescuepup on 4/8/2007 3:04:34 PM*** Reason: spellin ;)
rescuepups once posted that she was in southern Minnesota.
The most implausible part of the story, to me, was the timeline. Diagnosis-surgery-chemo in less than 24 hours? That doesn't match up with any experience I have ever had with health insurance in THIS universe. God can do amazing things, but expedite health care paperwork? I don't know...
If it had come from anybody but Pope I would have been pissed. When Pope said it was bull, it did make me think twice. She is pretty much dead on with sniffing out liars. I am studying to be in the medical field. The stories were so inconsistent, but I NEVER thought somebody would actually lie about having such a serious illness. Call me naive, I guess. Even if she does not have cancer, there is obviously something wrong with her mentally. I am not angry, but extremely sad that someone would feel the need to lie about being close to death to gain attention from people on the internet.
Do you people not understand that by continuing to discuss rescuepups! and her story, you are simply throwing more attention at her, which was the whole point of the lies in the first place?
Whether or not rescuepups! really has cancer--I would like to believe that there is some truth to her unfortunate story--is irrelevant. She is clearly troubled, in terms or health and/or mental health, and the best everyone can do is wish her well in the future AS SHE LEAVES, hoping she gets the help she needs, and be done with it.
What I dislike most: When rescuepups! puts up her embellished sob story, a bunch of other users decide to announce their cousin, mother, whoever has an even MORE tragic life or death. As if they have a monopoly on real suffering. Enough already! How can everyone even know that any of THOSE stories are true--"trust" is not a real commodity among a bunch of anonymous internet users. But to be honest, what does all this really matter? This is a website for discussing pets, not people and their issues, but somehow it has been steered off course. A moderator ought to close this topic and banish it for all time. That would be be the appropriate way to deal with this overdramatic situation, at least in my opinion.
Truth, lie, half and half. weren't you all brought up to believe that prayer NEVER goes to waste. If indeed Rescue didn't need them someone who did will get them. Prayer does not need to be directed to anyone but its nice if you can direct them to a specific need. I came from a funeral Friday yep Good Friday, for a family member. My Dad died of cancer, My 48 year old sister in law lost a 10 year battle with first breast cancer and after remission in that bone cancer. My cousin brain cancer, My neice and god daughter Breast cancer which was initially "cured" in both cases but manifested itself later on in a different form. Maybe this will help raise more awareness of the ongoing pursuit of the cure! Now that you have had your turn to complain, Do something!! Run for the cure, donate, whatever, make it the number one priority, then when they finally find a cure for breast cancer, go for another cause. You are all very caring, educated people, you can make a difference! God's wonderful Blessing on all this Easter Morning!
Hehehehehe!!! IcyHound... I tried sticking my head in the sand but all I got was sand in my eyes. Wait a second... I see something... YUCK!!! cat terds. Dang it!! I must have stuck my head in the litter box by mistake. LOL :)
Mods- Please close this thread so we can get on with our lives.
***Happy Easter All***
Life isn't like a box of chocolates . . it's more like a jar of jalapenos.
Considerng the time of the initial post, it's possible that rescuepups was beginning an April Fools joke. Everyone was caught up in it and it just snowballed from there.
Personally I believe in the powers of attraction. If someone thinks and says something enough, it will happen. That's why I would never call in sick to work if I wasn't because sure enough I would get sick.
I have dealt personally with cancer and I can honestly say I hope rescuepups won't have to experience it in her life time.
I agree with Serene about locking this thread. It seems to be going nowhere.
Unless,of course, someone feels that rescuepups needs to be beheaded yet for her lies. If so, PM me and I will look for my dull machette.
Otherwise, PLEASE, everyone just get over it and enjoy God's Blessings for the rest of this Easter Day. Also remember, that this is the day that Christ arose, just to take care of sins like these, among a multitude of others.
I myself don't think this thread should be locked. There where many members taken for a ride and each one should be able to say how they feel about it if they want. The other thread was locked before I could reply.
I know we are not all perfect and all sin in one way or another. I'm not here to judge anyone. I just think everyone should have the right to say what is on there mind.
When I first read the post about her having cancer I cried uncontrollably as I read it. It brought back many memories of my second husband dying from cancer and my aunt dying from cancer. I felt sorry for her and the people that it affected.
Now to find out that is was all a lie. That's just not right and I myself wanted to tell her that. Many people are not on the computer during the weekend or everyday so if the thread is locked then they will not be able to express how they feel if they desire. IMO reap what you sow!
Just to let ya know , my hubby is a 6 year survivor of malignant melonoma. He had the surgery to remove the cancer , was let out of the hospital the same day , and the next day resumed lifes normal routine . He didn't sit around and mope. If being on the computer is what you do ,why sit around and feel sorry for your self . I for one believe her.
