I was wondering with all the recalls of the dog food.....what would be the best food to feed my new puppy (10 months old)? I have tried Nutro Max and she won't eat it and I can't really afford the real expensive stuff so I was hoping that there is something good that I can feed her that is safe and not costly. I like the dry food best.
Raw diets, Fromm is the best dry food, in my opinion.
Rule of thumb for dog food, no corn, wheat, or soy. No repeat ingriedients, for example Nutros first few ingriedients are "Chicken Meal, Wheat Flour, Ground Whole Wheat, Rice Bran, Poultry Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of natural Vitamin E), Corn Gluten Meal, Ground Rice" see how rice is re-listed? You don't want to see that.
A cat by any other name... is still a sneaky little furball who pukes on the sofa.
I second that... We have hard working dogs and they love Diamond. Their coats are gorgeous, and it keeps thier weight where we want it (they have the tendency to be on the skinny side) We feed Diamond Performance, but that is too much fat and protein for a full-time housedog. Diamond Naturals is the way to go if you want to stay away from grain products. They have a great Large breed puppy that they make.
