Hey Guys - So we did it, we got our new pup just today. She's quite the mutt lab/golden/german!!! I am expecting lots of advice from you all on how to keep Baxter from getting to jealous or territorisl. He hasn't been acting this way yet but i want to make sure that i know what to do, just in case.
I have another question - I switched them both to Natural Balance Potato and Duck - what should I do with the left over Science Diet Natures Best? Do they take open bags at rescues or shelters? or is it just garbage?

Oh my gosh, your puppy is adorable! I ♥LOVE♥ her face! She looks soo much like my old puppy Abby. I'll have to go find some pictures of her to show you. She is the one on the right in my avatar but that pictures is too small. The markings are so much alike though. Have fun! lol I miss those puppy days.

Call the shelters and ask if they will take open bags of food. Some are more than happy to take anything, while others only want new. I've dropped quite a few bags of open food at our SPCA though.
How does Baxter like her?
As for jealousy and all. Give him more attention right now. When you are petting/playing with him, don't let her interfere, just gently push her away. And vise versa. They will have arguments and work out their differences, let them be. It will work out.

As for jealousy, as long as he is not acting that way now he may be accepting her already just because she is so small, which is a good thing. The main thing is supervision for safety. Hope it all works out =)
