I really don't know how to answer this politically correct. NO!
Pot is just as addictive as alcohol or any other drug. You get some lazy people when smoking pot man.
My brother started with pot at the young stupid age of 15. After he didn't get the high (his own words in rehab)use to get. He then went to something stronger and stronger. My brother had gone through three rehabs in a few years. We buried him around 6 months after his last treatment center. He was killed in a motorcycle accident when the driver of the car hit him head on, crossing into the wrong lane. The guy that hit him head on was supplier of his drugs. Well you sure can't prove murder in the court system with that. He just said he fell asleep at the wheel. My brother had just to much info and was clean for the first time in years.
Pot/any drug is a spiral down fall from life.
Have we not learned anything from our dogs yet??

When the time comes when Government can control and tax pot, it will beome legal. It has already been introduced as a possibility with pot being used for medicinal purposes. I'm surprised it hasn't been tried on people with anorexia. Maybe it has. I'd take herbal remedy any day over the "legalized" drugs the Government advertises and controls now.
I second that notion that I would rather be in the company of a group of pot smokers than in a room with a bunch of loud mouth drunks.
I am with George Carlin on this one, I say we pass out more drugs and give them to the right people. I live by live and let live. As long as you aren't in my face annoying me or offending me shoving your beliefs in my face, whatever's clever.
It's all in moderation. If it takes over your life and impairs your abilities, obviously, you've got a problem. Then again, humans as a whole are addicts. Food addicts, sex addicts, gambling addicts, caffeine, nicotine...should we punish the people who choose these things and actually set limits and behave responsibly while they enjoy themselves? If that was the case, we wouldn't have a damn thing to look forward to a good time unwinding. It'd be pretty boring.
They are doing a new study now that the fatty's (oh excuse me, "thinly challenged") who had gastric bypass, are now getting addicted to other things like sex and shopping since they can't inhale food anymore.
We're on borrowed time on this earth anyway. We pay our taxes and vote like good little sheep. People need to lighten up, enjoy life more and start minding their own business because we all have that "some thing" someone else isn't going to agree with...no one is perfect.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
illini... the difference between drunk driving and driving while high on pot is about 50 mph. A person on Pot is so paranoid (cautious) that they only drive about 20 mph verses the person that is drunk driving who is reckless and driving about 80 mph. Most Pot smokers are lucky if they can get off their coach. After all... Pot smoking makes your butt grow roots. :) LOL
On the medical side... Pot is great for people that have a serious disease that requires pain meds. Pot is the best pain med there is. It is also being tested to show that it slows down the growth of Cancer cells. I may not be completely for it but I am not completely against it either.
Life isn't like a box of chocolates . . it's more like a jar of jalapenos.
Yeah, we all have a better chance dying from second hand cigarette smoke and being hit by a drunk driver than to be a victim of a recreational pot smoker, unless you get jipped out of the last Hostess twinkie by someone with the munchies. Then I could say that pot smoking would be considered a dangerous and perilous habit.
I don't necessarily think that pot should be legalized, I just think that the consequences of being caught with it should be less strict. I smoke it. And your right, it is hard to get off the couch, and when I do, its usually to take a walk to the store for munchies. And driving, the paranoia of being pulled over is enough. I stay the speed limit (i NEVER do sober tho), obey the signs, let people pass. Here in Canada, if you get caught with 2 grams (don't quote me, I'm not entirely sure) or less, they won't even do anything. A joint or roach in my ashtray is fine, they don't care. The police are more concerned with the people selling it than the people smoking it. I even brought a joint to the Snoop Dogg concert and they didn't even care. It doesn't get me high like it used to, not even close, that is true and some people like to chase the high, so they choose a stronger drug. I just find a different way to smoke it (blades, gas mask, hot box).
"that is the problem with drugs, once you start, there is no such thing as moderation. the longer you do it the more you want it. it is never enough until you are dead."
Sorry, I disagree with that statement simply because it's just too broad.
I smoke pot once in a while. First time I ever smoked was almost 20 years ago.
I do not drink alcohol, and I quit smoking cigarettes over a year ago now.
I can take it or leave it. I never drive when I smoke, because I drive like 5 mph with white knuckles, convinced the police are going to get me. Nah, not much pleasure in that.
I think moderation is a completely possible thing.
I had two friends die from alcohol poisoning back when I was in school. Never had anyone die from pot poisoning.
Alcohol has led to a lot of domestic violence, child abuse, etc. Stoned people don't tend to get angry or violent like that, even if someone swiped the last of the munchie food in the house.
Lot of people killed by drunk drivers, but the stoned drivers, well they're too busy trying to remember why they left the house to begin with, or they're at 7-11 with their big gulps in their hand, standing in the cupcake aisle trying to decide whether they should get the chocolate ones or the strawberry frosted ones to actually kill someone.
When it comes to legalization, I would almost rather have pot legal than alcohol. I say tax the crud out of it and sell it, and use the tax money from it to fight the meth labs and other drugs like heroin, etc.
