Toby has been exposed to kennel cough. He has not had the bordatella vac. Are there any other symptoms besides the obvious coughing? What is the incubation period for it? He stayed at my son's house last weekend (we picked him up Sunday a week ago) which is where he was exposed to it.
Hey Scout, thanks. Vet said incubation period is 7days. My big dilema is, I am supposed to doggie sit for a friend this Thursday through the next Monday. I don't want any chance of passing it on to the other dog.......????? Ya think the vet is accurate with that incubation period? If so, today is day 7 of when I picked him up from my son's house. He has no signs of coughing althouth he did barf some bile this AM...(twice) which he seems to do now and then for no apparant reason...he is eating and drinking fine and seems pretty normal...
Throwing up bile usually means that they have an empty stomach. Mollie had kennel cough once, she was tired, coughed, hacked, puked up her water all the time. It was nasty, the phlegm that she coughed up. If your dog doesn't have these symptoms he should be ok.
Oh really? so does that mean I'm not feeding him enough??? Is he hungry when he's puking up bile? It's almost 90% of the time in the early morning. I feed him 1 cup a day of my homemade food.....1/2 cup in the am and 1/2 cup in the evening. Oh and thanks for the advice on the kennel cough. The stuff he puked this morning was yellow and frothy....I guess that's bile.
