In the past few weeks I have been feeling glum since I lost my cat. Just yesterday my male cat was outdoors. My new neighbor walked over and picked him up and cuddled with it for a few brief moments. My father witneesed it from in the kitchen and went out and asked her what she was doing. She said she recently lost her cat that looked like mine. Now I'm afraid to let my cat out because she might steal him. I really don't want to lose another cat. Please help me with this emotionally draining problem! :(
I don't know how to help my Isis is an indoor cat only because: 1) she's a persian cross and this means LONG hair, not only long but lots of hair, don't want to deal with that kind of grooming 2)there are too many cats in my neighbourhood and I listen to them fighting (sounds like they're killing each other) all night 3)I've heard that indoor cats tend to live longer 4)I live right at the eadge of a mountain and I have seen coyotes troting through my backyard a lot resently. Not to mention mountain lions. 5) the deseases and fleas outdoor cats are seceptibal (sp?) to.
well the obvious answer is not to let your cats outdoors. there are a million things that can happen to them if kept outdoors. cat fights, road pizza, poisonings, dog attacks, stealing, picked up by animal control, feline aids and leukemia can be contracted by infected cats, higher vet bills, etc........... it is safer and healthier to keep your cats indoors.
I would higly dout she would steal your cat seems she is right next door. Mine do it all the time! He actually feeds her every now and then. He knows where his owners are. If anything just keep on eye on him when he is outside. I wouldn't worry too much!
Have your cat microchipped and if she steals him, you bhave proof he's yours. Someone thought my grandma's cat was theirs and now she's missing. So you can never be too careful. xoxo, FrostyGirl http://22.214.171.124/users5/furkid/index.cgi
