Ok, so I would like Miles and Chili to travel this summer with us through our ususal trip thru Yellowstone but Everytime they get in the car they get car sick. Is there anything I can do to help them? I know people have dramimine to curb motion sickness, is there something for dogs?
Alot of times It's because they haven't eaten. Make sure they eat at least a little bit before you leave.. and have you ever heard of doggy carseats? Alot of dogs do better if they can sit and look out the window, just like people.
I have one, it's called the Lookout. It's a high seat so they can see out the window, and the size of your two dogs can fit in one, just get an extra harness -- It's a harness that attaches to the seat belt and then to the dog's harness that he wears. You can't hook it to a neck collar.
Talk with your vet. He can recommend a sedative for them with the correct dose. But before I would even give them the drugs... I would start by taking them on short trips everyday in the car to get them accustomed to the ride, Start out with small quick trips and work your way up to a longer car ride. You have a least a month and a half before summer gets here to work on it. Good luck
