Ok. Court is finally over. Judgement was found in my favor for $268. The judge gave me only 1018 for the damage to my car. He gave the neighbors 750 for the loss of their dog and pain and suffering. We both have to pay for our own court costs. I'm not thrilled. Nor am I angry. Just relieved to be done with it.
We now have to get retroactive permits on an addition that was built on our house before we bought the house. I'm pretty sure that they called it in. I could stoop to that level and do the same with their enclosed patio. I'm not going to do it.
No, not really. They called the city on us. Not enough gravel in our front parking area. Hubby called the city on them. Now they have to move a trailer out of their yard. They called the city again, and now we have to get retroactive permits on an enclosed patio. If I wanted to be evil I could call the city and have them get a retroaacactive permit on their enclosed patio and fireplace. I'm kind of sick of the whole thing. I'm not calling anyone. Their nephew is going to put up a block wall for the cost of materials. That is one good thing. I still want to move.
ugh, I know about neighbor problems. Thankfully, they moved away instead of us...lol I don't know if I could be the mature one like you are deciding to be. That's probably the better road to take anyway. Hopefully things will get easier in the future.
This is the smart thing to do. now that the legal court process is over, it time to put this matter to rest. If you will continue with this tit for tat crap, this could escalate out of control pretty quickly. Just count your blessing that no one got hurt yet and keep it this way.
After you move, this is when you tattle tale on them. after you are gone and the house is sold (if you own it) they wont know you were the one who turned them in, then you would have the satisfaction.
If I seem to have a superiority complex, it is because you make it so easy.
BD So glad its over, maybe not completely your way, but neither is it theirs. I don't think anyone ever really wins in a situation like this, but I love Juno's reply!! The bad part is your still stuck with them. Live is so very short, too bad they can't see that.
