so maycii is now 4 years old and from day one she's been as stubborn as a mule with potty training. finally after keeping her crated while we were away and at night she finally got the jist. "oooh i poop and pee outside. ahh." anyhoo we flip flopped back and forth with her in and out of the crate at night. she'd do really well for weeks so i would give her another shot and let her sleep in her own bed in our room. she'd get out, and wander and pee everywhere. now 4 years later i say in .. no more chances!!! i felt that keeping her in her crate all night for years was cruel just because of pee on the carpet so i lock her in the bathroom with her blanket. for reasons that i can not understand she now thinks it's acceptable to do her buisness on the bathroom floor. she pooped 3 nights in a row right on the floor. did i mention everynight at 11:00 i walk her for what seems like forever and she NEVER does anything? my husband says it's time to give her an a*ss whoopin. i would never HELP .. i'm on the verge of a poopy breakdown!

Crate training is not cruel if done correctly. It is a den for the dog. She is probably being confused b/c some days the crate is ok to sleep in, some days it is not. You are (w/o meaning to) confusing her. Start all over with her crate training. Try associating the crate with treats. Start with small amounts of time and work your way up.
thanks for the advice everyone. did i mention she's a boston terrier? haha she snores worse than my husband does so i actually prefer her out of my room. i guess back to square one is the only option. thanks again
Im with you there on bostons. I have a boston that sleeps in bed with us, sometimes I wake up to snoring and I poke rocky and hubby because I dont know whos doing it. I wouldnt trade eather of them for the world though. the snoring, farting, snorting, grunting, and sneezing (any time you kiss rocky he shakes it off then sneezes on you) is something I have growen to love.
I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame I'd even cut my hair and change my name
i bought her from just puppies. she was about 12 weeks and i knew it would be a challenge to train her but i am quite good so i figured it would be ok. boy was i wrong. you know what else .. she pees when she's excited, nervous, mad sad, hungry sleepy haha i think she may have a weak bladder..ok fine, not her fault entirely but i know that a weak bladder wouldn't make her poop on the floor. grrr
Just one other thing no one has mentioned is getting the odor out completely from where she has peed or whatever...make sure you use a really good pet odor remover to mop the bathroom floor and clean the carpet with, and then she wont smell where she has gone before. She thinks that is an ok spot right now, since she smells that she's used it before. You have quite a challenge with a four year old who still has not learned! Best of luck - and use the crate.
