My boyfriend and I just adopted a 12 week old black lab pit bull mix. I am nervous she will become more aggressive as she gets older. When she sees other dogs the hair on the back of her neck stands up, isnt this normally a sign of aggression? I know that with proper training and affection we shouldnt have a problem, but the thought still crosses my mind when she is around small children. so if anyone has any advice i would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks VERY much!
I wouldn't worry too much about small children. It sounds like it may just be a dog aggression issue. Take it somewhere to socialize and get used to meeting new dogs in a positive way. It's still really young, so you can probably correct it. Ask a trainer for advice if you can't fix the problem yourself.
I think my Pit is part lab and he will do the same things but he is usually very good with other dogs as long as he doesnt think they are a threat to me! But i just took him to the park and river and let him get use to seeing dogs and knowing that they are ok to like! Defiently take him out and socialize as much as possible!! Best of Luck!!
