I have not sewed in my life.. Well not with a machine anyway. I just wanted to try my hand at making some foo foo clothes. So I bought a pattern, not that I know how to read them.. lol So I bought some material, and some cutsie frilly stuff. Well here it is..... I need more practice with the machine , but I really like it..
While I am not into clothes for dogs I have to say that that is "foo foo" alright :) I love to sew (I used to make most of my own clothes when I was younger) and I didn't fail sewing in highschool I would have to say you did a good job, just looking at the pic. Now, maybe if I saw it first hand and up close it might be a different story but seriously it looks very very nice for a "foo foo" coat/dress, whatever! Keep sewing and you'll be a pro before long. We'll be looking for your line in the stores real soon :)
Hey! Long time no post... you have to come around more often lady.
I took fashion as a trade in technical high school, as far as I can see, you did a great job! Just stay simple until you get the feel for your machine and how it works with materials. Then you can go all out and get more elaborate with the designs. There are all sorts of patterns out there.
I've made pocket books, ankle length skirts with hidden zippers, stuffed animals, suits, repaired zippers and hemmed. I would much rather make things on my own time, away from that "do it or else.." setting that my animals benefit from lol
Oh yea, I'd keep your new skill a secret or else you will be too busy fixing other peoples stuff to make these creations lol
Great job for your first time! I just payed $40 for a dress like that (with a matching leash, pearls at the neck and a big silk ribbon on the back) at the Super Pet Expo. You said it cost you $3 to make. Boy do I feel like a sucker! Looks like I had better learn to sew.
