My brother is going to Iraq :( I don't want him to go. (please pray for him)
He is either going in three weeks or in the fall.

I ask that all of you pray for my brother, I don't want him to go to Iraq becaue I am worried that he could get hurt or we won't see him for years, I just wish this stupid war would end and everyone could come home. Please pray that somehow he won't have to go to that stupid place. Does anyone else have family members in Iraq or anyone in the armed forces? My brother Brett says alot of people are going to be going to Iraq now, they need more troops and alot of Bretts friends are up their to. So please pray that somehow he won't go but if he absolutely neeeds to pray that God will protect him. Thank you.

Dear Mypoodlerocks,

Tell your brother that he and his friends are my heros. When he goes to Iraq I will be praying for him and the other soldiers. Just remember that what ever happens to your brother he is a good man that cares about his family, country and the world. He chose to join the military so support him, don't ask him to stop working before the job is done. Your brother is a very brave man - more power to him.

I'm as far leaning left as you can get and even I think the troops that go there deserve our full backing, no matter what we think of the circumstances that got them there.

I'm sure your brother will be fine, physically, but emotionally I wonder what the toll does to people, seeing that sort of thing day in and day out. I guess you get numb to it.

And denim, don't worry, I would never ask my brother to stop doing what he loves, after all this is what God wants for him so I am not going to stand in his way. Thanks for praying for him, it means a lot to me and my bro. :)

I shall include your brother in my prayers, my dear.

My son is over in Africa right now, he was supposed to go to Kuwait and got pulled last minute to go near Somalia....Equally not safe and I worry alot myself.

When you get his addy, pm me and I will send him a box of fun stuff and cookies.

Also, there are sites and forums you can join for support...let me know if you need some.

My best friends son just came home a few wks ago from Iraq, so try not to think the worst, support him and dont watch (or believe) everything you hear in the news.

btw, I talk to my son almost every day thru myspace and AIM and so did my friend with her son in Iraq...it is Waaay better communications-wise than it was when I was married to a sailor 23 yrs ago.

My brother has been in Iraq for almost 2 years is due to rotate out end of June. He is now in Baghad. Yes there is fighting but in spite of what you see on the TV and hear on the radio, it is not that intense.

When my brother was home on leave he kept saying all those poor people want is to live their lives, he enjoyed most of his time in Iraq. The biggest problem is boredom! Start getting together little things to send. The "boxes" are looked forward to with great anticipation. Everyone shares. You can go to the Post Office and for $8.10 cram it full of everything you can think of no matter how much it weighs, it will go for 8.10 and in my brothers case he had the boxes in 6 days or less.

The "nuts" are the ones you read about, the Terrorists. The terrorists wreak havoc even more on their own people than others. There will always be "nuts" in the world no matter where you live.

We will all pray for your brother and all the other service men and women over there, that they will return safe.

Thank you everyone for all your support and prayers, I really appreciate it, I am going to try and figure out how to post pictures of Brett in his uniform on the forum, I am so bad with computers LOL I have posted pictures of my dog before, but then the tinypic place would not bring my photos up agin so then I could not download them. Maybe it will work today. Thanks again everyone. God bless all the troops!

thanks lovinbullies. So I tried posting the pictures on tinypic, but it said please wait and nothing ever showed up, what do I do? I am going to try and post a picture of him when he was in bootcamp running with his group, but it won't come up, so if you know how to post pics on here please walk me through it LOL This is one of the pictures I have already downloaded on tinypic.com of Angel from about 2 months ago LOL So for now here is a picture of Angel and I

Your brother is in my thoughts and prayers. I don't have anyone close to me in Iraq, but I have a few friends who have siblings or parents there. Just remember how brave your brother is for doing what he is doing.

I am going to try and load pictures of Brett on here on Monday or Tuesday, if I can figure it out. For some reason that tinypic place says please wait and I wait like 5 mins and no pictures or anything come up :( Maybe the website was just screwed up that day, who knows LOL

Of course I will add Brett to my prayer list. Just don't worry, he is in the Lord's hand. He is doing a job that has to be done and that some of us can't/wont do. I can't go, the military frowns on 61yr old soldiers. I have a Grandnephew that just finished his basic and advanced training in the Marines. He wanted to be a Marine and he knows his chances are good to be deployed soon.
