While browsing the net for a good dog food I came across wellness but get a load of this, they say on their website that they USE rice protein concentrate in some of their products but that their's is "safe" but for how long? Blue Buffalo and other companies were bragging how their pet food wasn't affected, and just look at them now. Perhaps it's only a matter of time before they quit lying or find the truth because it wasn't just the wheat gluten that was affected it was also the rice protein concentrate. See: http://www.omhpet.com/wellness/index.html
They say that their rice protein concentrate does not from the particular Chinese company affected, and that they have tested...
But unless they state firmly that their rice concentrate DOES NOT COME FROM CHINA, I wouldn't trust it! It seems from news reports that spiking melamine scrap in animal feed is a common, accepted practice in China.
Wellness does not say particularly where theirs is sourced from. If they were comfortable telling the public where the rice protein concentrate came from (ie NOT from China) then they would tell the public. That they are hiding where it comes from is suspicious.
