I have a 7 month old Husky. I love her very much, but am so frustrated and need help. She will not stop going to the bathroom in the house. We have a huge yard that she loves to run in and I take her for walks daily. She goes out and runs and runs, forgets to go and comes in the house and goes on the floor not one minute after she comes in. Anyone have any ideas?
She just isn't house broke yet! Use the crate method!. Have her in the crate over night take her directly out to go. Give her 5 minutes if she goes then she can be loose in house for a period. If she doesn't go take her back into the crate wait 15 minutes then back out! Usually by second time the dog will go. Lots of physical and vocal reward when the dog goes outside. Use the crate to control the dog until you get habits created. You can also use the crate the same way when you come in from being outside. Best to create an area for the dog to identify as "going area" by taking her there everytime. Also integrate a vocal command to go when you have her out and going. Such as "clean out" or "go potty" that will come in handy on trips and walks!!!
