i breed dogs, catlover .. boston terriers. i was interested in purchasing a male himalayan to breed with my female but have yet to do so. the license protects the buyer because even though you purchase the license in order to be licensed you have to follow certain guidelines such as no more than 4 litters per female, only one litter a year, documentation is a must for the health testing and health certificates are a must as well for each puppy being sold. in order to sell puppies you DO NOT HAVE to get a health certificate but with a breeding license you do. puppy mills don't usually, in my opinion, follow such strict guidelines so i think it gives prospective buyers alittle bit of piece of mind as well. i don't know for sure that's why i said in my opinion. i am protected as well by the same guidelines because i am doing what i must to ensure the health of the puppies.
congratulations on your new kitty m13lucky. you're very lucky to own a himalayan, i think all of us himmie owners are!! i was told that our louie was most probably going to be a carrier of ringworm and that his mom most likely was too. it's a shame because he was a fabulous little kitten and he has such personality. i fell for him instantly. he was clearly suffering though and i wish i could have done more for him but with 2 young children in the house i was seriously worried about the ringworm being passed to them. although not so serious, i was not prepared for a human outbreak. *wipes brow .. we got lucky. it's a shame that yours is a carrier too. i have yet to find any information stating that it is a breed disease though. it just goes to show you that even in a show cat you just never know what you're going to get. i would love to see some pictures if you have any. i have a question for you too .. do you prefer the dollface or the extreme and what do you think is desired for the show ring?
i know wvtabycat .. it is sad, sickening and just wrong. i know this woman however who has 23 cats. she was a neighbor of mine. i promise you this woman devoted every single second and every spare dollar to her cats. although to many in my eyes they were well cared for and had the rome of "their" house. she bothered no one and neither did her cats. all were spayed and nuetered she just could not turn any strays away. haha people like that deserve a the world!!!
