I dont know if anyone knows, but I heard that Eddie Murphy is doing a Beverly Hills cop 4 currently. I was wondering if anyone is planning on seeing it since Eddie Murphy has had such a long string of movies that suck recently. I enjoyed the series, but I am starting to wonder if Eddie Murphy has lost his edge. What do you think?
since i didn't go to see #3, i highly doubt that i'll see a fourth one. eddie murphy has been really good in the shrek series, but everything else has been rather 'so-so' his best work was in his 'raw' & 'delirious' stand-up routines.
chances are no lol. i don't go to the movies very often as i am unwilling to pay the exhorbitant price of admission nowadays. so i save my movie going times for movies i know i will love even before i see them, like harry potter movies :) plus, i would rather spend the money on the DVD and sit in the comfort of my own home to enjoy a movie.
but anyway, i loved all the cop movies so far so i will wait until it comes out on DVD and watch it then.
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
Although I will watch it since I liked the previous ones, I will not pay to do so. I agree with scout on that point. Prices are way too high. Going to the movies for a family of 5, could cost well over $100 when you take in to account the ticket price, snacks, drinks and gas. Even if it is an adult movie that is not for the kiddies, I still got to pay for a babysitter. Either way, it is too expansive to go out and see every movie I might have an interest in. Most of the movies are crap anyway and the thought of spending this much on a movie and be disappointed afterward irks me.
I only go to Movie Theaters for movies that require the big screen and sound to fully enjoy it, mainly scifi movies which I like with a lot of special effects and action scenes. A recent one was “Spiderman 3”. The next ones will be “The Transformers” and “Fantastic Fours”. If the kids nag too much, I will probably go to the Harry potter one too. That is all I have budgeted in for movies this summer… so far anyway. The rest I will either dl or wait for the DVD or PPV which I get for free.
If I seem to have a superiority complex, it is because you make it so easy.
I will only go to the theater that is about 16 miles from my house. For first run movies they charge 2.50 matinee. At night it is only 4.00. So the tickets are not too bad. Admittedly, I will stop at the shop and rob before the show and get a drink each for hubby and me. This also helps cut down on the cost. I just take everything out of my purse but my wallet and shove them in the purse instead. Been doing this for about 17 years and have not been caught yet. Hubby will buy a popcorn (2.75-4.00) there and I buy a pickle (1 or 1.5) so we spend about 3-4.50 on food there. For the full evening we can spend between 11-20 bucks. I dont think that is too bad. But then again, that is only for hubby and me. The theater is not horrible. It is better kept than the dollar cinemas are. I went to the dollar Cinema once to see a movie that I missed when I was raising the puppies and was disgusted at how bad they have allowed the theater to get. Broken chairs, carpet that looks like it was paved in gum, not to mention the lack of cleanliness. If I ever miss a movie at the theaters again that I want to go see, I will just wait and get it on my blockbuster pass.
