I would have posted this in Cat Talk but no one seems to go there. :P
We are getting our cat, Cash, in a few weeks so we are buying everyting that we will need. I'm not good with cat food, but I went to PetSmart and bought a bag of Authority Whitefish Meal and Rice Formula. The ingredients seemed pretty good, but I'm not sure. My aunt does cat rescue and she said it was best to have fish in their diet.
The first ingredients are: whitefish meal, brewers rice, corn gluten meal, and ground corn.
I stay away from chain petstores, if I am right, I'm not sure, not good with ingredients, I think both of those corn ingredients are bad? I'm probably wrong. I think Authority is supposed to be good, I wouldn't get it, no offense, I don't trust food companies anymore..lol. Anywho, someone knows about these I'm sure.
I feed all 6 of my cats Authority. They eat the Indoor formula. My cats absolutely refuse to eat any food with fish in it. I did cat rescue for a while. I use to feed purina. They do a thousand times better mon it then the purina. The are thriving on it and have only eaten it for about 5 months.
If we ban Pit Bulls and Rottweilers are humans some dont like next ?
My older cat eats Nature's Variety Prairie Canned Rabbit formula. My younger cat eats mostly Merrick canned food (different formulas). I also usually give them a Nature's Variety raw medallion once per day (rabbit or venison).
I switched my cats back to Diamond's Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul (WHAT a stupid name for a pet food). It has good ingredients, is a reasonable price and comes in those little star shaped pieces that the cats like.
My cats absolutely refuse to eat canned food, so I need a good quality high-protein dry food.
Then there is Oscar who tries to eat the dog's dry food, my breakfast yoghurt, coffee cream, etc. etc.
My cats were on the Chicken Soup brand food for over a year. I bought them a bag recently and they would NOT touch it. They went about 4-5 days without eating. I finally went out and bought the Wellness. The day after Chicken Soup recalled their canned food. I was told the dry was fine, but I don't think that bag was ok.
