All they are is sugar, sugar and more sugar. Never known a horse to get sick off of sugar at least not too much. Did it make him curl his lip? They make me curl mine. Had one spend too much time under the mulberry tree and got a little tipsy and a purple tongue.
We'll you don't want to give a horse too much sugar, because they get high blood sugar and i think they can get diabeties, but I'm sure you take great care of your horses and won't let that happen. :) Smarties YUM Party in the tummy!
When I was young, I would go to the barn early in the morning to ride, and I would always forget to hide my donuts. My horse use to love to steal them and eat them. And if it was in the evening, the barn dogs would ALWAYS steal my dinner. No wonder I could stay so skinny, I never got to eat.

well horses arent like dogs and cant die if you give them a variety of candies....like pepermints, jellybeans, smarties (as posted),chocolate, etc. and it wont hurt them...but dont give them A LOT at a time because you dont want them to get diebetes that can br potentially fatal to horses
