I recently got a 7 mnth old Lemon Beagle. She was already crate trained when I got her, but I would like her to have run of the house. She seems to have a stonger bladder than I thought she would, she only eliminates about every 4-5 hours. The problem is I'll take her out before I have to leave and she won't have to go, but while i'm gone she will(on the carpet of course). I've read I should take out on a leash for ten minutes and she doesn't go put her in her cage, but I don't keep her in her cage. She does really good at night even if she doesn't go before bed, and she not in her cage then either. Any advice?
My dog Mollie does this when I leave. I can let her out right before I go, but she will still pee on my carpet. It could be a sign of separation anxiety, she only pees when you are not home. Crate her if you are gone. Maybe as she gets older, you can limit the time in the crate to when you are gone a long time.
