Here is the E-mail I sent to Dingo Brand's (made by 8 in 1 company) customer service department. If I don't hear something back by tomorrow I'll give them a call after work. I don't know for sure if these rawhides are the cause but it seems the most logical thing...
On Monday, my coworker bought a package of the Hand Tied Rawhides with Chicken Treat Center at Petsmart. (the small ones) She gave some to her 3lb chihuahua/dachshund mix (Girlfriend) and 3lbs chihuahua. Later that night she gave me one which I gave to my 7lb Yorkshire Terrier. That night her chihuahua threw up a couple times before they went to bed. The next two days after that her chihuahua/dachshund mix (Girlfriend) became increasingly ill. She wouldn't eat anything and stopped drinking. After Tuesday morning she would not go to the bathroom and became lethargic and started to throw up. Thursday morning she took her to the vet where he suspected a blockage. After doing exploratory surgery he found no blockage - just a portion where her intestines were partially twisted. He suspected the cause to be something she ate, some type of bacteria, or a toxin. She has been on an IV since the surgery and still will not eat on her own. Friday morning my Yorkshire Terrier threw up. She seemed to be fine after that until Sunday when she threw up that morning again and then had diarrhea later that afternoon. Then today, my coworker's friend visited her house with her chihuahua/dachshund mix (a sibling of Girlfriend - the one at the vet) where he found one of those rawhides under the bed. He chewed on it and almost immediately threw up. We have been trying to figure out what has caused Girlfriend to be so sick and we realized that all four of these dogs were sick after eating these rawhides. Three of the four dogs are very small (around 3lbs) so I think they may have gotten sick faster than my 7lb yorkie because she is larger. I know my yorkie is on a strict diet and doesn't go around eating just anything and this rawhide is the only thing I have given her out of her normal routine. I know at the first of April you had a recall of your chicken jerky due to salmonella contamination. The handtied rawhides have chicken jerky in them and I am worried this package was contaminated as well. Please let us know if you've had any other complaints about this product recently.

rawhides are dangerous for any dog. they can splinter & perforate the intestine or stomach, often coagulate & cause blockages & many are processed using lead & arsnic, & yes have been known to cause salmonella poisoning
I usually don't give rawhides to Lacy anymore. I used to when she was younger but have heard a lot of bad things about the so now very rarely give them to her. I like to give her Merrick Bully Stix because they don't break off in pieces like the rawhide does..she just slowly chews them down. My coworker had just given that to Lacy as a gift and I thought it would be okay since I was there watching her. Still haven't gotten a response but their office is in Hawaii so I know they're time is quite a bit behind mine.
Wow those are tiny dogs! I'm use to 50 lbs and up. LOL
Anyway I'm sorry your babies got sick. Writing the letter is a great idea, This will be interesting to see how/if they reply.
I myself stopped buying all types of treats/food for my kids when all this food recall started to happen. The treats right now get steak scraps from a supper club. I cut them up into treat size pc. and freeze.
Keep us posted.

I hope your babies will be okay. I am so sorry. I know when all the recall started there was something about the dingo treats because I always bought the sticks with the chicken in the center. I quit buying them when all this recall stuff started. Keep us posted as to how they are doing. Poor little babies.
I am sorry about your babies getting sick. It's a shame that companies will make products that actually harm your pets rather than help them. I give my babies Nylabones. They do realy well on the bones we give them and they have a guarantee for their products. Money back guarantee! I hope they get to feeling better.

I got an e-mail back from them saying that they haven't received any other complaints but would like for us to send a sample of the rawhides to them. They also want the lot # from the package. So I just need to get that info from my coworker and we'll have to send one of the bones to them.
Girlfriend was doing better today. She hasn't thrown up in 36 hours now and pooped a little. They were going to try to feed her this evening. If she is able to eat and keep food down then she might get to come home tomorrow. They have been trying to find a place here to test the rawhides as well.
