Hi. I brought Chico home back in February. He is a Chihuahua/Pom mix-- we know him as a Pomchi. He is just such a great dog. He is agile, funny, bright and oh-so cuddly. I'd love to talk to someone else who has one of these guys and share stories. Plus-- I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on breeding? I've never done it before and am not necessarily looking for the money-- but he is so cute and so smart that before I have him neutered, I wonder if I should share these great genes!!!!

Don't breed. A mixed dog should not be bred.

Yea, please don't breed. A lot or all of those great puppies are being killed in shelters.

Breeding has nothing to do with making money, a good breeder breeds to better the breed. When you have a mixed breed, you don't have great genes to share. Please neuter or be responsible and simply don't breed.

Be proud that you own a wonderful mixed breed. Neuter him and let him be a wonderful pet and companion.

When you are mixing breeds you will never know what you get. Just look at petfinder and you will see millions of mixed breeds with no homes.

Please neuter Chico and enjoy him as your baby!

They aren't labeled as a pure breed, but they are a registered animal. People are coming up with new breeds all the time. I also think that if you want to breed your dog then you needd to make sure that they are going to have homes BEFORE you breed. I bred my 2 chihuahuas and they had 2 cute babies. They both had homes and they are happy. I will NEVER do it again. But if you want to I think that its your choice. People who say things like that are weird to me. I am now a proud owner of a Chiapom and she is adorable, she is very smart and playful. So its your decision. But I think there are laws in some states and you might want to make sure that you know them.

Just because they are registered dont make the registry a reputable or good registry. I can make one up tonight and it would be just the same as any other registry that registers mixed breeds.

We are wierd because we think responsible and give responsible advice hmmmmm I think that someones thought process is a bit backwards.

I agree with the majority - don't breed. not only because you won't know what you're going to get, but also because there are so many other dogs need homes. please don't be selfish!
