I have a 5 month old Rot, Whenever he wakes up, he is slugish with his hind legs, holding the left one up at times, and even to the point where he cries very loud. There will be times that he will be playing with the other dog, and out of know where he will start crying. But at the same time he can run around the back yard with the other dog for hours and nothing will happen. I have taken him to the Vet and e touches all over his legs, moves them in numerous motions, and says that everything is good. He is a very good Vet so I trust him, just don't know what else to do. Any help would be awesome, thanks
How long has this been going on? Has he just started it, and have you contacted the breeder where you bought him from, since the vet says he's fine. Are you sure noone has hit him, or has he jumped from any height? What does he sleep on at night? If it continues, definitely take him back to the vet and get him to investigate further.
I don't believe anyone has hit him, don't really have anything to jump off. It's so off and on it is confusing, all day long today he cried everytime he put weight on it. Then he went running around for an hour with my other dog and didn't cry at all. He sleeps in his crate with a big thick dog pillow.
Kbluna, did you check with the breeder to see if the parents hips are O.F.A'd, although you should already know that info, but just in case, it would be something to check out. The part about his legs seeming sluggish is worrisome, I would take him back to the vet and have him go over him with a fine tooth comb, hips ,spine, everything.
Ask a vet about the things I listed. It sounds an awful lot like pano, but can be any of the things I listed and he should not be running around playing until you know what is wrong or you can possible make it worse IMO
