" The energetic Bengal is not for people who just want a leopard print cat for decoration. Whether they are fishing in the aquarium or playing in their water-bowls, fetching balls for their families, taking walks on a leash or climbing to the top of the highest cupboards, Bengals are constantly on the move and are perfect for anyone who wants to interact and play with their cat daily. The Bengal cat, like many other pets, demands a good deal of attention and affection and enjoys being an integral part of the family."
Just be sure to buy a bengal from a reputable show breeder. Since this is a cat that orginated from a cross with a wild cat, you definitely want to be sure to find a breeder that breeds strongly for a good temperment.
I have a friend who bough 2 froma "show" breeder. he now has a 3rd free one.two have heart problems:( due to inbreeding. he said he wont buy another one ever. they are good with his daughters pitty and his english bulldogs
OH BENGALS ARE *AMAZING* FELINES!! THEY REALLY ARE. IF YOU GET THEM FROM THE RIGHT PERSON THAT HASNT DONE SOME IMBREEDING, MAKE SURE THE BREEDER IS REGISTERED WITH TIBCS. THEY ARE TOTAL LOVE BUGS!! MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO GET AN SBT (MORE THAN 4 GENERATIONS DOWN FROM THE ASIAN LEOPARD CAT) OTHERWISE THEY ARE NOT TO BE TOTALLY "TAME." WHATS THE POOINT OF HAVING ONE OF THESE BEAUTIES IF IT DOESNT LET YOU HOLD IT YA KNOW? WE BREED FOR HOBBY, ALL ARE BRED FOR HEALTH AND TEMPERMENT. CHAMPION SIRED AND ABSOLUTLY NO IMBREEDING, THATS GROSS!!! WE HAVE A COUPLE KITTENS NOW, A VERY SWEET BOY ONE WHO IS SOOOOO GOOD WITH KIDS!!! MY LITTLE 6 YEAR OLD SISTER ADORES HIM AND HE LETS HER CARRY HIM AROUND AND HE LAYS ALL OVER HER AND PURRS!
