About a week and a half ago, I was walking down one of the streets by my house and I saw a sign that said "Bunnies for Sale" and so I knocked and the man who lived there showed me these baby mini-lops. I fell in love with them and decided that I was ready to take on the responsibility of owning a rabbit again (I had one when I was way little) and so I did a lot of convincing and my parents decided to let me have one. I talked to the man again and picked out this adorable white bunny with black-rimmed eyes (kind of like a Dwarf Hotot) and black ears. They are about a month old right now and I can't pick him up until August 14th because I'm going on vacation. But anyway, I'm kind of worried that she won't be very affectionate, because he was telling me that his rabbits are near wild and very skittish. I'm just kind of afraid that s/he won't warm up to me. Does anyone know if I can change his/her nature since s/he'll be still young when I get him/her.
Oh, and also, he doesn't know what sex they are because they are still young and it's hard for him to tell. I think he expects me to take him/her somewhere to find out. Does anyone know somewhere where I can get that done for free? or do I have to go to the vet?
uhhhhh You can't get it done at the vet for free, but seeing as they are the most experiancd, I would go with them. You should take them for a check up anyway. If you handle her a lot, she will get used to yuopu
Like the above poster said, with lots of attention and handling, the rabbit will get used to you. If you do take it to see the vet, try and find one nearby that specializes in smaller animals. You could also see if theres a rabbit breeder that could help tell you if its a boy or girl.
Dont worry. My sis got a rabbit who was pretty much wild and she is now the most loving and affectionate rabbit. All you have to do is handle him everyday, talk to him, play with him, and just let him know you are there and love him. Dont ever yell at him and NEVER hit them. That just scares them and then they defiently WONT be nice. Make a nice, comfortable place for you rabbit to be.
As for the sex, I know how to tell but im not there and i dont really know how to explain...ill see if i can find a site that sort of tella you and post it then. Good luck with him/her!!!
