The "(actually I'm a Sir by the way. You can tell by the use of logic in my posts)" Post was a little over the top. Most men make no sense what so ever unless their women give it to them. It is called training. There! Now we are even! LOL
janders, sorry that's not making sense to me. That's not what people here are saying at all. Maybe re-type it out cause I have no idea what you were just trying to say. sorry.
Blue.. I'm saying this "Publically" because I want it known i was NOT aware you were calling Dusty a rat dog. There is so much typing and so fast I did not read that properly. I laughed at your rat dog reference because I thought it had to do with little "yap yap" doggies (which I love) and they or "rat" doggies as I have heard them called can be a bit nippier then some of the large breeds and scare me at times. Now that I know you were calling someone personally a rat dog... not nice. no need for name calling on a public forum no matter what. I would hope no matter how much we all disagree with something said we would not resort to that.
I figured it would not be long Bluedixie, until you passed the realm of name calling , to insulting the entire forum. As the majority of members here seem to be women. Being that you feel that you are so logical, i am surprised that you didnt pick up on that .........
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
geeesh Savannah.. aren't there enough tangents going on right now?
Anytime you isolate a genetic trait, good or bad, and select accordingly you are in essence "narrowing" the overall gene pool. No comment is being made about whether this is good or bad... just stating fact.
I have my opinions....
The only purpose of life is the very moment you currently occupy. Dogs get this....
If each question was answered with a simple yes or no this forum would be unfathomably boring. As it is, this thread has entertained me for quite a few minutes here at work.
Jackie, so very ironic for you to comment on "Pocket Pits" when the ones that you breed are so far in the other direction from the standard that you feel (as do I) that they should actually be called something besides APBT. I think "pocket pits" is a horrible idea too, it was just kind of ironic.
Aww, now! While I don't agree with this particular man, I love men.. I wish we had more on pet forums.
"Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those that matter, don't mind...And those that mind....don't matter."
Another observation about this site (and not that it means a squirt of piss..) and I have been here a long time...
Are the condescending know it alls who come and go. They feel the need to tell everyone on this site how awful they are, how they are ruining the world etc etc... instruct people on how to respond, then crawl back into their holes waiting for the next hemorrhoid flair up.
Let it go. Get a hobby.. forum nannies are one of the more annoying human interactions. You couldn't shut your mouth long enough from tearing down every other response to answer the question "yes or no" either.
Funny how life isn't just yes or no, isn't it?
To the OP seriously Google reputable breeding practices, the good (wonderful homes for healthy happy puppies who could proudly say had the best start at life you could possibly help them along with) and the bad about breeding (still born pups, losing your bitch, returned pups etc) shelter statistics, puppy mills and backyard breeders. Get every bit of information and make an informed decision.
That is the thing about opinions-everyone has one, everyone is intitled to one as well. No one says we all have to agree with them. Logically sound advise?
As to the post about the AKC having enough breeds, I personally do not agree. There are still some rare breed dogs out there in the world that I personally would like to see get kennel club recognition. There are breeds that no longer exsist. I have a Sealyham Terrier. When was the last time you saw someone walking down the street with a Sealy? When was the last time you heard someone ask "Where can I get a Sealy?" or a Dandy Dinmont Terrier. There are breeds that we need to preserve.
Can any of you tell me how many Norweigen Lundenhunds are currently living in the U.S.A.? I feel breed preservation is import. But I think given the science and technology we have today, we as breeders need to be working towards breeding the most genetically healthy dogs we can. If using genetically unsound dogs for the purpose of only increasing the size of the gene pool, we are making a grave error. Both issues are inportant ones when it comes to breeding healthy sound dogs. Does that sound logical to you. I should hope so. I was afterall a math and science major. Which does require a person with a logical thought process.

Are we punching in and out? Recording, analyzing and explaining our absences now?
If so, mark me down for painting the basement floor before being available to find my way all the way across the Internets and "blowing the dust off my membership"! Also, Draw an inappropriate stick man next that please? K, thanks.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
