i saw the picture too. I dont know the breed so I couldn't comment on the actual look of the dog. Also if they are not groomed properly it may take away from what they would look like. Sorry, just went by the advertisement saying Yorkshire and responding to that being a pedigree dog.
Those could very well be purebred Yorkies. This is what wikipedia says "The Chocolate Yorkshire Terrier (also referred to as Chocolate Yorkie, Red Yorkshire Terrier or Red Yorkie, and Brown Yorkshire Terrier or Brown Yorkie) is a Yorkshire Terrier carrying a double recessive gene for a red or brown coat" It does add that this is a fault and not recognized by the AKC and should never be bred.
Sassy/Pepper- I couldn't tell you whether were full or not but if you're considering purchasing a yorkie pup you most def get them for cheaper than $1000!!!! I think that's outrageous. I live in OK and my classifieds are selling full-blooded Yorkies for only a couple hundred dollars! You might consider investigating a little bit more for a better price :)
I wonder what CKC it is i don't see it in the add. They do look purbred but as said poorly breed thats all. That is alot of money to me for a poorly breed dog but that is all BYBs want. Still cute dogs.
Sissy, I would be VERY wary of buying a yorkie that is beings old for only a couple hundred dollars! $1000 is pretty normal for a Yorkshire Terrier - anything less and I would REALLY check out the breeder well. You're pretty lucky to find a well bred one under $800. Most yorkies are more in the $1500-$2000 range.
So far as the yorkies in the picture, I do think they are purebred but probably not very well bred. I'm surprised the breeder did not dock the tails if they are in the US as reputable breeders in the US will follow the AKC standard which calls for docked tails. There is such thing as a chocolate yorkie but it is a fault and not recognized by AKC. A lot of people consider these chocolates rare and will pay more for them, but like I said, it is a fault. There are also bicolored yorkies (called Biewers if they come from German lines) but they also are not AKC recognized.
