~Regarding the same ole questions....If there were a search section of this forum for topics discussed then the same questions wouldn't be asked over and over again.....Personally I don't have the time to go back several pages to try and find something that pertains to what I need to learn about....the only search I see is google search...Am I missing something?~
No you are not missing something. This is what most people do. We see someone bringing up a thread that is years old and want to talk to the OP. Well they are long gone so in my opinion I would rather see starting a new thread to ask a question and we will all take turns to answer the best as possible. We are not always on line 24/7 but there is someone that are! LOL
This way you have a fresh outlook and someone to discuss the matter with.
Serene, the internet world is another world. If you read Dusty's posting carefully, how many people do you think know all that? When I asked my kids about it, they had'nt heard of it either, and you would think they would. The people who have been on these discussion forums and the like know exactly whats what, but there are some people who absolutely do not. Thats all I'm saying, not everyone knows about Trolls, and I don't consider myself an uneducated person- but that was a complete surprise to me. O.K. I just wanted to reiterate the info in my first posting, sometimes things are not the way they seem.
Sorry... think we've run out of badges for TP Patrol.
This is an open PUBLIC forum. Just because you dont like what people are saying/posting about.. tuff luck. Dont read the posts then. People have a right to their opinion. Most of us will only "jump on" a poster for an actual reason, not because we're "purebred snobs" or any of the other terms you people label us with.
boy you need to get off your high horse, and see the fact that not everyone will put up with your crap. I can tell you that there has been a lot of people that are sick of it. I am just the only one that will put my foot down and say the heck with you.

I really can't believe how long that you and your friends have run a muck on this forum with your crappy remarks and putting people down. I will stand up for the little people here and say that you will not attack someone just for the heck of it. that includes me.
Boxer try not to get your panties in a twist. Have you ever observed dog people in general out in the world? I am not talking just about breeders but people who are nuts about their dogs? Well I have. They tend to be very serious about their feelings and opinions when it comes to certain topics. Web forums allow them to have a place to voice those feelings in any matter they choose. It is after all a public forum.
I have certain "hot topics" that push my buttons too. I can't stand people who breed their animals without a thought to health testing or bettering the breed. This comes from the heartbreak I have witnessed from many years working with animals. I WILL NOT concern myself with what you or anyone else thinks about my opinions or how I choose to state them.
By the way, Pen...I thought you were a troll too...lol
boxer, maybe it's just me but truly I have not seen someone getting "attacked". I definitely have seen strong willed people stating opinions they believe in because they speak what they believe in their soul. Yes, I've seen "antagonistic" comments, and I have seen people all post harsh feelings towards any topic. This includes ME!!!
But not once, in any of the threads around here, have I seen horribly mean spirited attacks on another.
not for nothing..I consider myself a new member and a new owner to cocker spaniels..sometimes I come and read some of the post they make you laugh, they make you think, and sometimes they make you get teary eyed...I am not saying that you don't have a right to feel the way you feel..If I come on and search something which is really hard at times...because there is no real search...I would like to come to a forum where I can get honest opinions and answers from REAL BREEDERS who love their pets and can relate to what I am going through or have been.. sometimes it is hard not to find questions that are the same but each question that is posted has different meaning for everyone...we all do not think the same or perceive the same..* some of us at times can't even express ourselves correctly...If I post something I don't expect a response within 2 minutes that is unrealistic...I can't say why some people do what the do..most of the time it is really for attention...some people are not effective with the computer...but I do agree with you about how it can be annoying...but everyone is not annoying we have choices to read and not to read..I have learned so much valuable info from this site beyond from what I already knew...I am not perfect and no one on this site is either if we were we would not need this forum at all...I thank all the breeders who did respond and stated that they would continue to respond because I may be one of them of them annoying people that really need some sound advice and I would not want to be shun for trying to get a response. We all go through something in our lives and for me if my baby (Mesha) gets sick or have a problem I would like some info and because what I may be explaining someone could have experience and could provide me with some tips and some valuable info that could save her life and info that I could inform her vet about...so you are not going to like what everyone post and sometimes I don't either but it is not my choice or my place to tell a person not post or you hate a post etc...I am not being rude or nothing like that...I know I am hear to get all the info that I can...if people are playing terrific pets will through them off the site...leave that to the administrators..There have been many post that I have seen where each post gets different responses we always have to try and consider what the next person may be going through.. thanks ladies for all the valuable links and info...this is a never ending learning process for me and I love it.

I pledge to be a responsible dog owner...I Pledge to take care of my baby for the rest of her life...
Bluedixie. Do you have anything to share about your own dogs ? Any pictures ? The one in your avatar looks like a small aussie. Maybe a mini ? Or is it some kind of 'Rat dog?' Hard to tell from the small pic......
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
This is about to sound smart alecky.. But another thing to remember is that none of us are here by force.. There are so many different pet forums with many different "atmospheres." People that are here are here because they want to be. If they find that they don't enjoy the atmosphere, they can spend time elsewhere or just visit here when the mood strikes. While maybe it is sweet to try and "protect" people who one feels are being mistreated, they have all the power right at their own keyboards to choose to reply, read and not reply, skip the thread altogether, notify a mod in the case of a personal attack, or navigate to another site for the moment or forever if they so choose...
I have no "police power" here and I don't try to. Mods are here to handle nasty personal attacks on members. You or I don't have to. Though we can PM a mod if we see someone being personally attacked. And that's the last we have to deal with it! I don't make up the rules and I don't enforce them. Not my job. I reply when I want to, and not when I don't want to. I read what I want, and skip what doesn't interest me. Works for me! :-) If I felt like trying to police the forum (with no authority), I could do just that, but I'd be silly to complain about having to do so because I DON'T have to do so.
Sometimes I want to read or post here. Other times, I want to post somewhere a bit smaller and more personal. I'm not going to try and change TP into a more personal cozy kind of place-- it is a large forum with many members! I just navigate to a different website to suit my needs as I see fit.

"Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those that matter, don't mind...And those that mind....don't matter."
Dusty- I have already publically apologized to you if you'd like I'll do so again. I'm sorry if you were actually offended by an attempt to bring levity to a discussion that was snowballing out of control.
I'd be happy to share any information at all that you sincerely would like to hear. The avatar pic is of my stud Mini Aussie when he was younger. His name is Blue.
My first dog after I moved out on my own was a regular Aussie which at the time was a breed that was only recognized by UKC. I paid a whopping $35 for him and for 14 years he was my best friend.
I'm sure everyone in here has had that "one dog" that all other dogs you've ever had afterwards were compared to.
Anyways, I got into the still "unrecognized by AKC" version of a miniature aussie as a compromise with my wife. I wanted a breed that I loved and she wanted something smaller. We decided to breed and acquired 2 sound females from 2 different parts of the country.
We are currently tending to our second litter with the assistance of our two girls.
From what I can tell from this forum we'd be classified as a borderline hobbyist breeder.
If there is anything else you'd like to know feel feel to ask.
The only purpose of life is the very moment you currently occupy. Dogs get this....
Not to point out the obvious, but there ARE specific sections within each category. There are sections for discussions dog health, dog training, etc... same thing with cats, horses and so on. As it is, a LARGE number of Dog topics are posted in the General discussion every day. EVERY day. Folkls can't even make ti to the general Dog talk section to post dog topics. have fun trying to insure they will post within the proper sub-categories. Not going to happen. Trust me.
Not that I don't WISH the topics were all posted in their proper place, where stickys would be effective IF posters read them, however just don't see it happening here.
As always, anyone with suggestions for steps they feel would improve the forum should feel free to contact Admin and offer those suggestions.
Folks, I understand that MOST of us are adults and a slip of the tongue (even written) is not big deal. However, there ARE children on this forum. We have children of all ages visiting as well. Even those kids who meet the age requirement of 13 really don't need to be visiting a forum where the adults are unable to keep the profanity in-check, much less the personal attacks.
PLEASE???? PRETTY PLEASE, imagine your 10 or 11 year old child or grandchild reading some of the comments.
