I love my landlord. I am lucky enough to have found a place that excepts and loves animals as much as I do.
He's a friend of the family and he happens to live about 20 feet away. He did not care that I had the zoo I did when I moved in, he didn't mind when we added one more.
Not only doesn't he mind, he actually lays in the grass and plays with my dogs. My dogs like his dogs a chihuahua named Tiny and a mixed breed named Jed. Which is nice, because they can't really play with the spastic demon pom next door.
Well, now Clyde has come along. I guess someone got rid of him, I haven't heard the whole story yet but he is 3-4 yr old English bulldog.
I know these bullies need an ointment applied to their nose and I would like to have accurate information to give him on the breed. The dog is awesome and I can tell he is already in love with this boy. (As Clyde demands to be carried up and down the stairs from the second floor by his new dad...and dad happily obliges.)
Well anyways, here is Clyde he's quiet the character! The best way I can think to describe Clyde without a video on hand, his movements are very much like a giant male silver back gorilla.
I know they overheat easily. We just used vasilene on the nose. But I guess you could use neosporin too. And as you have found they are not so good on steps. But I was surprise when one actually jumped up into the back of a large F350 van. That's a pretty big jump for a bulldog.
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
Hi Pope, I'm jealous of you having Clyde for a neighbor, he's so damn cute. You don't have to worry about too much with Bullies, they're fantastic pets, but they do require exercise, short bursts only if it's warm, and none if it's hot. As with all Brachyceaphalic dogs they can die of heat stroke easily. Tell his owner NEVER leave him in a car even if it's not bad out. Bullies are famous for skin, feet and tail problems, but I think it depends a lot on the owner, and how they're fed, and what they're fed. If he has a really indented screw tail, that has to be carefully watched, if he's bathed, make sure the owner dries the folds of the tail well. He looks to be in fantastic shape right now, just make sure his owner knows that he must have exercise, or he'll turn into a whale. Who knows, maybe he'll scare the s#@t out of the pom next door, and you'll never see it again.
He's really cute. I am partial to brindle. I find him to be much cuter than a lots of english bulldogs are.. I just clicked on a website and even ones up for stud looked really overweight and kind of whale/manatee-like. I'll have to look at the AKC site to compare with the ones I just looked at, could have been just that site.
"Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those that matter, don't mind...And those that mind....don't matter."
I own english and I use monastat on their wrinkles on their nose,it seems to work really well. Like someone else said be aware of their tails if they get water in the base of them they will get infected and can be a big problem. I had one of mines tail amputated because of this.
My male bulldog is the same color, only he has a solid white face. I use baby wipes to clean his wrinkles under his eyes. Tell your landlord that bulldogs snore alot when they sleep. Sometimes I wake up because my male,Lance is snoring like a bear during the night.
I have a male that also looks like that but with a all white face. We also use baby wipes for the ect. skin but we have found A&d the baby butt cream works the best. it makes it not as shore when they get hot, we put in the cresses and not on the nose. He will sleep a lot, but my boy will play for a small amount of time with me, he loves that rope. Tell you land lord good luck with him. He is really cute.
