Most all of us who have dogs have work out buddies, because we walk them, but does anyone actually work out with them(for your benifit), like running, jogging, ect, ect.? Every morning I take one of the dogs running with me, while the sun is rising so that they dont get distrackted by ther dogs walking with their owners, ect. I find that if your having trouble getting out of bed, I just think about how guilty my dogs will make me feel, because they look forward to our morning runs. It also helps because scine they like it so much, they want to do it more once youv'e started. Plus, it's not only healthy for you, but for your dog too! It's also nice to have a buddy run by your side.
I own the world's only dog that does NOT like walks...I would love to run with him, but as soon as he sees my running shoes, he runs under the bed! Once I get him out, I try to run, but all of a sudden his 18 lb body grows a 100 lb anchor in his butt.
Even if you are on the right track, you will still get run over if you just sit there. (Will Rogers)
He actually impresses the crap out of me.. stays exactly with my pace even when it varies, and sits politely if I stop (such as waiting for traffic to clear so we can cross the road.) He doesn't like other dogs but when we are on a jog he totally ignores them even if they're at their fence barking their fool heads off at us.
When I jog I don't talk much, as I'm breathing hard and winded LOL, but the last stint I walk, and then I have conversation with Manson as if he were a person. He doesn't answer but he listens.
