Although they seem to have BC markings it is very hard to tell entirely what they are. I strongly suggest that your friend ask to see the parents. Border Collies are very active dogs from day one, they demand daily excercise of varying degrees and if they dont get it they will find their own entertainment.
My gut says they are not. If there is even a question I would not purchase the puppy. Ask to see the parents but it's not a guarantee that the dogs produced are the parents. I know it's hard but you have to let emotions aside when purchasing a puppy. You need to look at the whole picture and not just that cute little face with the wagging tail.
Oh so the OP's friend should go ahead and pay for a purebred Border Collie and get a mix? That is the stupidist thing I've ever heard! Coming from a backyard breeder though I would expect nothing less.....
That is very true dixie, and that is a personal choice for everyone. But why buy from someone who may be deceiving you?
What if you need that person later on down the road? Would be nice to have an honest person that cares enough to respect you, that you feel comfortable going to for advice and sharing the dogs with as they grow.
If they are mixes, they should be advertised as so and the owner shouldn't try to hide anything. It should all be fair game to discuss whatever the potential owner would like to talk about.
They are cute though, remind me of Snoopy!
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
O jesus, stop with the bashing. I have no idea if bluedixie is a byb or not, personally, I don't even care. Puppies do need homes, but I wouldn't pay more than what you would pay at a pound/rescue. The pictures wouldn't work for me, so I couldn't tell you what I think. Hopefully your friend has good intuition, however, most people do not. Since your questioning the breeder already(or your friend), I say pass on the puppies and look for a good breeder.
