Me and my mom were driving up into our neighborhood, and by one of the houses their was a car off and what looked to be a vizsla and he was sticking his nose through the little crack in the window, so when we got home, me and Angel went for a ride on the scooter, about 5 mins after we saw the dog in the car, and when me and Angel were riding the scooter, I went near the area where the dog and the car were, and the dog was still their with his nose out of the window, It was really hot outside and it was humid, I just don't understand how someone could leave their dog in the car with all this heat. :( Hopefull the dog is still alive!
I would have called the police right then and there. I am so sick of these people that leave their animals in hot cars or let them ride in the back of pick-ups and burn their feet off. They need to be locked up and sit in heat like that left that animal. There is nothing that ticks me off so fast as that. I don't think people are that stupid. They would have to just not care.
I agree! We don't have a truck but when we take our dogs to the vet, they ride in the SUV with the air blowing on them, though we do let the window down for Louise to put her head out, she loves it! When we take them walking, we always give them water when we get back! Some say we spoil our pets but I say we just take care of our kids! I even took our hamster to the vet to have a lump removed, it was their first hamster surgery!!!! Who cares if I spent $100 on a "rodent", he is my son and I take care of him! Ok that was off topic but anywho! Stupid mean people!
We'll I would have liked to get the dog out of the car, but that would be considered breaking into other peoples property, plus my mom would never let me do that. I hadn't thought about calling the police, But I was thinking about going to the door, and getting upset about how they left their dog in the car, and telling them how stupid and selfish it was, I just can't believe people don't care anymore.
By the time I went back over their, the car was gone, what should I have done then. We normally always have police driving throughout our neighborhood, since this is a new subdivision, and their have been lots of workermen goofing off around here.
I do know in the state of Colorado that it is against the law & classified as animal cruelty & subjected to a fine. If a animal is found unattended in a locked vehicle during the summer or winter month's. The window's being cracked do not classify itself as being proper ventalation that animal has to be able to exit the vehicle. I would encourage you strongly to contact the police or a non kill animal control the tempuratures in a vehicle can get up to 110 degrees in a matter of minutes exspecially if its already 90 degrees out & if all else fails Bust the window..LOL I wouldnt encourage that but then again if all else failed knowing me I would.
yea, I wish I would have done something then, but now I have no idea what happened, at least next time I will have an idea of what to do, thanks for the replys!!! And never leave your dog in the car in any such heat, leash them up somewhere, or take them with you if you can!
When I leave my dogs in the car this time of year, (to pay for gas, or run in a farmers market, etc etc) I leave the car running with the AC on and doors locked, and I take my remote key with me. But again, still never more than a couple minutes. In this weather you shouldnt leave dogs alone AT ALL if the AC is not on.
